  3. Thanks for all the comments chaps. Think I will be adding a PMA 32 linkage to some future convrsions as it does look good!
  4. Thanks for all the comments, I am very pleased with how it has tured out. Next is some paint, If anyone has any tips on how to make it look used and abused like the ones that have scrap squashed into them I will gladly listen! I will post up more photos as and when but I don't think progress will be that fast!
  5. I know this is not strictly farm related but it is the first thing I have completley scratch built and wanted some feedback. I have in my mind one day to do a large demolition diorama and this is the start. This in 1/50 scale. I am sure that a similar item in 1/32 scale would look good in a farm diorama for the scrap mans visit! The rear door is hinged and the rear rollers move. The pictures
  6. Nothing that has not been done before but I wanted one for myself Having received a new roof without the hole for the steering knob from PDC I have finished this tractor. Things I have done... Removed Siku front linkage, cut away chassis and fitted front weichts from PMA 32. Cut off rear linkage and fitted realistic working linkage from PMA 32 Removed steering rod that was through the cab. Added controls and detail to the interior. Replaced cab roof. Fitted grab rails. I will also add a number plate to the rear fender when I get some decal paper.

    My weeks work

We are based near Epsom in Surrey. The Topper was only a year old when I took those photos and the oil would not stay in the gearboxes. After a couple of hours hard work it would be forced out of the breathers! Eventually the dealer replaced the oil with grease and it has been fine ever since.

    My weeks work

It took just over an hour to drive there which wasn't too bad. It would not have made much difference what we were driving as most of the time was spent folowing the car in front!

Yes we did have to pay! We are based in Banstead near Epsom. To get there today we went through Mitcham, Balham, Clapham, Vaxhaull and Waterloo. Got some strange looks! :D My dog is great fun, wouldn't be without one now.

    My weeks work

A few photos from today... And something a little different! Its not everyday that you get to take three tractors and trailers into central London! We had to pick up 800 bales of straw from in front of the Tate Modern art gallery. The straw was used over the weekend as part of the course for stunt cycling, the event was sponsored by Nissan. Half of the bales were ok and we will find a home for them but the others were like sponges after the heavy rain we had. St Pauls and the Millennium bridge can be seen in the background.
  14. There are a lot round about me in Surrey, but the most surprising one is near Reigate. They only do bale wrapping and in the winter fencing. I think they run four wrappers, 2 big square bale and two round bale. It would pickle my brain just wrapping bales day after day!! What makes it worse is that they have old Zetors although they did buy a new MF last year.
  15. Putting 20x20Kg bags of grass seed onto ONE football pitch using a direct drill!! Thats 400Kg!!!!!. I do what I'm told, bloke who wanted it done paid for my time so I dont care... Looked like it had snowed when i had finished! :D
  16. Regarding the above accident.. A friend of mine in Nottingham who was driving tractor and bale trailer in the dark last year after harvest had to turn left into a narrow gateway. He pulled over onto the grass verge well before the gate and walked to open the gate. Then after checking his mirror indicating right and checking again he pulled back onto the road. Still indicating right and looking over his shoulder to check the road was clear he went onto the wrong side of the road then indicated left to turn into the gateway at this point a car was approaching but flashed his headlights so tractor continued into the gateway while first car waited and so did two others (all from the same direction). When the tractor and half the trailer was off the road driver heard a loud bang. On getting out he found a motorcyclist on the floor covered in blood. Motorcyclist was going far too fast and overtook the three waiting cars, never saw the trailer...... After several police interviews and two court apperances trying to prosecute the tractor driver the case was thrown out of court as being entirley the motorcyclists fault. It amazes and worries me that the case got so far!! In the areas that we spend a lot of our time on the roads such as Croydon etc on the outskirts of London there is so much traffic that if you were top pull in you would never get back onto the road safely again, so just turn up the radio ignore them and keep on going. ;)
  17. Glad to see you've taken the time/ pride in your work to get the sockets etc level and square! A few weeks ago i was decorating a friends house which has been totally renovated and extended and not one of the electrical fittings were square. If it had been my house they would have been redoing it all before they got paid! >
  18. Wow What lovely pictures. I can see that i will be spending a lot of time lookink through all of them! I have added the site to my favorites. Some of the photos have brought back some nice memories esp the sugar beet images. I never did enjoy hoeing beet but it was satisfying at the and of the day. In a strange sort of way i miss it. I look forward to some more updates.
  19. Hey Marky, looks like it was a good day shame the snow stopped me! Any chance you could post some close up pics of the DBP 390T 4WD when you get a chance. I would have picked my ordered one up if i had made it, oh well i'll just have to wait a bit longer.
  20. I've managed to loose Dave's telephone number. AM hoping that someone on here has it and if so could you PM me with it please. Cheers RIchard
