Valley Axe Man replied to Valley Axe Man's topic in Implements Wishlist
Hi David, if you fancy a trip over the Pennines on 29th April, Phil and a few other "Blue" men are coming to the Chris Whitehead memorial Show, We had a good response so far and should be a good show all being well Dad was a Keen "Blue" fan and left quite a collection. He too liked 70s/80s machinery and was responsible for my interest in the hobby too! I try and put some pictures up! -

Hi Fergy35x, yep your right, UH could or even Britains could do so much for the smaller farmer / collector of classic machinery and tractors -

I know what you mean Sean, and unfortunatly all the mainstream model manufacturers seem to copy that by releasing the biggest of everything in a given product group, without anything suitable for the smaller carpet farmer or display. -

That brings back memories for me too David, The old orange drag chopper, and i had the power farm claas too but some how the old single axle claas trailer didn't quite make a balanced pairing, There's a couple of modern day contractors locally to me but the real inerest is the couple of farmers that are still self sufficent, Theres a Jd with deutz engine on, a claas 62e, a couple of jf 1050s and a Tarrup 602b. all on medium sized dairy units. -

When you sit back and think about it, modern silage machinery might be on top of the job but theres nowt like the sight or sound of a classic tractor just puffin a bit of black smoke out of it exhaust as it works hard powering a classic drag chopper drag filling, Diesel exhaust and fresh chopped grass mmmmm :) MF200 bit different Sean, and they Fantastic Pics David, just a pity Britains didn't cater more for The Classic Grassland Farmer! -

Valley Axe Man replied to Valley Axe Man's topic in Implements Wishlist
Hi Sean, your trailers look like a grand job, 7 ton twin axle weeks would be just a bit bigger then your 6 an half, but would be grand for those of us that farm smaller acerages and still keep chopping in house rather than modern day grass gobbling monsters! Infact now i think about it, didn't you build a Kidd Fymax spreader too? i think it was you that had one at Toytrac a few years back -

70S & 80S Weeks Twin 7 Grain & Silage Trailers
Valley Axe Man replied to Valley Axe Man's topic in Implements Wishlist
I dont know of anyone making them at the moment, everyone seems to be making 12,14,and 16 tonner trailers, but some nice 7 or 8 ton trailers would be great i think, nothing too big and not nessecarily Weeks, but Fraser, Marshall, Horn, Triffit, Easterby, etc, trailers with a nice age to them. -
Now Britains have re-issued Ford and International Tractors from the 70s and 80s some Weeks Trailers of the era would make nice matches, especially if coupled to a drag chopper of the day too, possibly a nice Claas Jaguar 62/62e with engine on. Not every one wants great fields for great big machinery, some like to remember and model the silage harvest taking 12 days not 12 hours!!!!

Valley Axe Man replied to Gav836's topic in General Hobby Discussion
Hi there, just bought Uh New Performance Super Major, but it not stay standard for long, got plans for it and will be unvailed at the Chris Whitehead Memorial Show in April -
Hi Ford Crazy001, hope to put some pics on soon, most of the Ford and Ford based conversion stuff that you seen was part of my late dads collection, my chosen route is Nuffield / Leyland / Marshall and the forestry displays were always a joint projects. It good to get a friendly welcome from over the water! Cheers bud
-
Hopefully i be about at a few more shows this year too, just take a bit of getting back into it again, whilst i had bit of time had a load of ideas for future projects, just got to decide which ones to tackle first!
-
Cheers Mark & Sean, yep i think i remember you at Toytrac 2010 Sean, we had Nuffield and Leyland display with Taarup Forager, you on FTF stand opposite with your scatchbuilt combines and were talking about putting a Scaledown Bomford hedger on a UH 7810.
