  1. Cheers for the comments lads, they appreciated , first time i put one of my builds on here, so was sort of wondering what response i get. I look into the weathering but i think it'll be one of those projects that will never truly be finished, always finding something else to add to it. It be at show in all its glory Mike, i'd best get on with job 'cos theres a couple of other bits to get finished
  2. That be grand Bill, at least if you post the pics i'll get to see "what i could have won" (in true Jim Bowen Bullseye style!) if i don't get to make it there in person
  3. We'll have to see how i get on with it..... more (dirty) pics when weathered! HaHaHa
  4. Winch suits Renault, a more up to date version of my Power major conversion
  5. Yep your right there Bill, i did drive a landy back then , i not long since sold the very same landy to a friend of yours that doesn't live that far from me! but I've upgraded to dads Discovery now The months seem to be flying by, it soon be time for Lanark. there pic of Nuffield skid unit on Andys website, under the JCB section. Hope you enjoy the auction Bill, i don't think i'll make it but i can live in hope
  6. Here's my latest 1/16th Fordson Conversion, Scratchbuilt timber winch, rad guard and weights for rear wheels and tin fronts instead of cast wheels. Just ready for off down the woods in the Valley to winch a few sticks
  7. IT was a shame about the show at Kittochside, we visited one year, it was either 2004 or 2005, and displayed there the 2 consecutive years after that until the shows unfortunate demise, it a grand place just to visit, with the Kittochside farm tour and the combine store below ground was fantastic to walk around, with nearly the full progression from reaper/binder through to mid 80s classics just a pity the paying public never really supported it to its full potential :'( :'( . Graham has at least 2 of Andys models that i know of, one is a very fine and well engineered JCB 3c and the other is a Nuffield skid unit as it would have been supplied to JCB from Nuffield, Both very nice models. :) ,
  8. Looks great, the real rotor chains are something that you don't see people doing that often and makes all the difference
  9. Have you got your eye on anything inparticular Bill? and do you know what models are in the auction because i know Graham has a couple of models that were built by Andy Sewell of Classic Combines
  10. Hi, wonder if anyone can help me with any details of a Dowdeswell DP5 conventional 4 or 5 furrow plough. Any help greatly recieved. Ta
  11. Be careful multi-tasking like that Damian, you don't want to drop your Raspberry Buns!!
  12. SHOW NEWS UPDATE!!!! After some serious thought (and the comments about her baking at Annandale show) my mum Lynn has decided to bake a chocolate cake to take to the show and offer it to the highest bidder amongst the Traders, Exhibitors and FTF members present on the day to help raise a bit more money for the charities Unfortunatley there isn't a Buy it Now option in this auction, just highest bidder wins
  13. Earl Grey!! that a bit up market Bill, Yorkshire Tea down here, but personally am a coffee man, without the milk cos there no point in dilluting it! Local languages is one of them often debated topics, Me an Mum only 30 mins from Damian an Hazels but theres still a big difference in the words we use and there meanings!
  14. Its a good job you lads is talking about Britains milk tankers and not real ones, I have enough of them at work but still have the "British" versions in my collection just for something a bit different.
  15. Mum says thanks to all who helped support the show by buying cake and buns, and for the comments FTF members have made, it just a bit of fun to raise money for a worthwhile cause Trade was that good, that at one point Archies Pike was in credit...... then he came back for a second or was it third helping! Sorry to disappoint you Tris but mail order not in pipeline..... But you never know where we turn up with a display and a bit o cake next!! ;D "When in doubt, put kettle on!" (but only if you've a bit o cake to go wi it, 'cos a brews to wet wi out it!) Hahahahahahahahaha
  16. Hi Brian an Bill, Just back from gretna, an unloaded models, Aye my mum knows how to bake a good bit o cake as Damian and Hazel will both testify, in fact stall did well for Kenny and Shirleys chosen charity making £60 plus! It good to catch up with a few friends both old and new and to try and catch a bargain to boot too! :) A good day was had by all and already looking forward to next years event
  17. Great build of one of the last badge engineered marshalls, Good marshall models are hard to come by, and the latter Steyr range are largely neglected in model form. Nigel ford did a very limited run of the purple coloured Marshall excusive off a fairly hard to come by marshall by cursor. some that still evade my collection!
  18. Hi Bill, no pics sorry but went down yesterday and caught up with a few friends, was busy with folk and some good displays and dioramas on the model front. traders seemed to be having a good day too, and some well turned out full size machinery too :)
  19. Finally a pic of one of my Weeks +40 trailers on a display at Lanark in 2010. Built by Andy Sewell of Classic Combines
  20. Before i forget, a Very Very Big THANKYOU to Damian and his wife Hazel for all their help and donation of all the advertising flyers and posters, both me and mum both appreciate your help towards making the show a success :)
  21. Thanks for your support David, its a worthwhile cause and dad always liked to see the next generation enjoying farm models and displaying them too, and time spent in hospital let him see another side to children trying to cope with their illnesses and the help that Clic provides. Lets hope the show does well! On a sadder note though the show will also remember and pay tribute to respected modeller and all round great bloke Phil Hairsine who tragically passed away last week :'( . It be a hectic weekend for us Barry but i try an join you for a quick scoop.
  22. Tractor looks great, Thank you for supporting our show for dad and putting the work into helping us raise some money for a worth while cause! If i don't see you before, I'll see you Longridge in April
  23. Such a tragic loss of a very talented man, Phil will be missed by many in the model world, and by us the Lancashire Lads and Lasses of Ribble Valley Model Farm & Construction, Phil and Star were our East Yorkshire division and spent many an hour at shows with us and taking time to help and share his knowledge of scratch building and customising models. We'll miss you bud, Rest In Peace
