  1. Good day out up the west Cumbrian coast yesterday with Gemma, called in at Orton Scar Cafe for a breakfast on route, to go and see a good man about a bit of "gold" then luckily got chance of a quick 3 mile run up to the village and back in his rare pride and joy, came home via St Bees, found a crab whilst wandering on the beach and then had a coffee whilst watching the lifeboat men return from what sounded like a training exercise. Once of a day that life boat tractor could have been a County..... received_1168955307169451.mp4 received_1081474532477286.mp4
  2. I'd be the first to confess John that reds aren't for me but credit where credit is due, again you done a great job building yet more stunning models of less seen cab variants... Hats off to you, for thinking outside the box and cracking on, and with results like this who would complain if it's old school craftsmanship with a scalpel or the modern version done by Lazer or 3d print the models speak for themselves, a genuine bloke with a genuine skill... Well done 👌👍
  3. Nice find 🙂 be a nice little tractor to have
  4. It's a good location and added bonus of being about the museum too gives added attractions to those not 100% into tractors, hopefully bnext year it'll be a bit better supported with a few more exhibits
  5. Last few, for a first attempt to try to hold a tractor show at Beamish they hadn't a bad selection there but maybe could have done with a few more to bulk the job up abit, and break the chains of Fergys and Dextas and Majors, a few more browns and a Leyland or two, would have helped break the line ups abit....
  6. And some more, interesting 576 Nash... As DM434 informed me these are a 6 pot imported kimko conversion using mazda engines
  7. Been away for a few nights with Gemma up and around Durham, and called in at Beamish for a mooch about on way home and to wander about the tractor assembly they are holding this weekend... A few photos we took afore heading off for a look about the 1950s Farm that hadn't opened last time we visited the museum
  8. Great work again John, hell you been busy on the cutting mat.... But by you still have the knack of pulling surprises out of the hat to treat us.... Your getting a dab hand at creating bits of scenes too... Cracking job 😉
  9. Good spares shops are hard to find these days Smithy, garage I use for my Defender has a loft full of new old stock Fordson and early ford bits, new old stock pistons and rings, bearings and seals etc alot of the handy stuff is long gone but I reckon if you looked hard enough there be enough old stock genuine bits to recon a major engine in that loft.....
  10. Couple of hours up at the shed this morning, got the track rod removed of the 472, ball joints swapped and given a coat of red lead, dash refitted with new stop cable and also new tacho cable for tractometer, and the whole lot put back in tractor, then set about the 465, new throttle cable and also a return spring, brakes adjusted up a couple of flats on the adjuster nuts, Also shown are the new drag link, and both short refurbished new track rods on the 465 that got fitted last Friday before Goosnargh and Longridge ag show, bit more shopping needed then can push on with the 472...
  11. Wasn't a bad day for it yesterday Gavin, fairly well supported show really, maybe would have been nice to see a few more exhibits as did look to be a few empty spaces but all in all was a good few hours out 👍hope you had a good holiday in Wales
  12. Nipped back to the spiritual home of everything Nuffield and Leyland on Friday morning to pick up a throttle cable for the 465, and also a pair of track rod ends for the the 472, it still surprises me down at Charnleys the amount of genuine new old stock items they have as the last piece of the missing wiring loom for the 472, by the tag on it it was made and tested in 83... So makes it as old as my 804..... And to think it's genuine original and not repro after all these years..... Yes the throttle cable and ball joints are reproduced parts but there's still a lot of new old stock items down there 👍 Some folk knock Charnleys for being expensive but they've never not had what I've been down for.......
  13. Then a wander down to the Brewery, just to keep the dust down, Black sheep ales won't be everybody's bag but I've been a long standing supporter of Paul Theakston and his brewing team when he went his own way from the Theakston family and set up his own brewery.... Anyhow a quick pint of Rigg and Gemma seems to have got in on the Black sheep Gin in the bar before getting a few bottles to bring home.... Just a shame I couldn't store their tanker..... 🤣🤣

  16. Had a couple of hours over At Masham North Yorkshire yesterday afternoon with Gemma for a wander about the Steamfair and then a quick trip into the Black sheep Brewery to wet my whistle and stock up on few bottles of Riggwelter 👍 few photos of some of the tractors and a few clips of the JC Balls dancing diggers, and unknown to us was a flypast by a Lancaster bomber.....
  17. Speedy recovery Mike, hope it's nowt too serious and your back on the go afore too long, thanks for sharing your photos so far. That 282 looks tidy and better sounded well, it's got some serious extra weight issues though 🤣
