Whats on your workbench???
Stabliofarmer replied to MODELFARMER's topic in Other Conversions & Scratch Builds
A little project, Tanco Bale Clamp Lots left to do yet James -
Watching one man and his dog on Sunday and they showed virtual sheepdog trailing ( funny enough in its own right) and my cat (kipper) was getting interested in it, watching TV is something she never does. Then the real thing began and she was well and truly hooked. No matter what distraction we tried she didn't stop watching the screen. Then as soon as it had ended she stopped watching. After typing that it does seem very much like one of those 'you had to be there moments' but it was truly hilarious at the time

What do you make of the senator ? As you make it sound almost as if it isn't as good as it should be ? -

Yes its the magneto we've had trouble with with most of the engines we've had. A bamford which we couldn't fix the mag on, and another D that required a new one. This one just had a lose point in it so tightened it up and of she went I bet that speed indicators come in handy a few times. To bring this back to the topic, also from the cheffins auction that I forgot to mention was 120 back issues of Tractor and Machinery magazines dating from 2000 to 2009 for the pricely sum of £5.

It certainly is, although I wouldn't mind a real one myself. Our 3" is now over 30 years old. Dad drove it when he was my age when a neighbour owned it, it then sat in his front room for 30 years and two years ago it was purchased by my dad. We have since had a new boiler made for her and the complete engine been overhauled. Now we have this 4" we wont reappear from the garage for three years we think Thanks Tim, the lister D after a quick tinker started and has a beautiful sound, it now starts on the first turn I must say I do like Fred a lot

Well she came from Redruth to Shewsbury with her owner then we picked her up and her she is at home Theres a lot of work but with the 3" nearing completion it should make a nice winter project, for example the last picture is all the gears that are too be cut and those two boxes behind are the components to be turned down to make the running gear. Another purchase this one from the Cheffins auction yesterday was this Lister D for the grand sum of £40, our second in the space of a year.
