  2. Hi, My "harvest" from Houten this year was quite small, due to some models still not being available, but anounced. Very happy though with my Landini and PZ CM186 mower! Have a nice day! BR Jan
  3. Interesting stuff guys! I also have some disadvantages using superglue, as for instance it sometimes hurts my eyes during use...... So i also will try to find this Plastic Magic stuff somewhere. Thanks for the information Peter! Have a nice day BR Jan

  6. Hi all, Posted some pictures earlier on, but yesterday she finally was finished: my Caterpillar D8K in 1/24. Took me about six months to build, but in the end im very happy with the result. Just take a look for yourself at the pictures below. Whenever you might be interested in the process: here is a Dutch scalemodelling-forum it is placed on: https://modelbrouwers.nl/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=54921 Pictures: Best regards, Jan

  8. Hi, Just a sneak-peak from the scratch-built ripper, which will be mounted on the rear of my Caterpillar D8K-bulldozer. When the weather will coöperate, i will be airbrushing it this week on Wednesday. Only have to wait on the last pieces of tracks, which are in backorder at my supplier......... Have a nice day! BR Jan
  9. Hi all, I couldn't do scalemodelling without Waterslide Decals, which i design myself for nearly every project i've done and will be doing! Great details are brought to a model using the right type of font and size of names, logo's etc. Takes a bit of work, but again: couldn't do without!! Best regards, Jan
  10. Though not or often seen on the continent, at least, that's in the Netherlands where i live, it is indeed a very nice model you've made Ian!! Compliments to that!!! BR Jan
  11. Hi all, Just some quick pictures of my ongoing project, buildig the Caterpillar D8K in 1/24-scale, based on the building-kit from AMT. Cab is ready, scractch-built, and also airbrushed yet, even on the inside. Tracks are not yet complete, and partly airbrushed. More will follow. Have a great day! BR Jan

    CAT 65

Hi all, Oooooh, being a Caterpillar-fan, i surely would purchase a kit like this........ But as far as i can see he didn't produce high numbers. Not to mention what the OEM would think of that.........................🤔 I will keep an eye on that! Hoping to find him supplying small numbers to Cat-fans! Have a nice day! BR Jan
  13. Hi, I make my own decals, and it's really not that difficult! First try and find a proper picture (or rather: a vector-file) and scale that to the right size. After that: high-resolution printing on water-tarnsfer-paper, and voila! Done it a couple of days ago with the model i'm working on right now.......... Have a nice day! BR Jan
  14. Hi, Be aware that the 1490 has an open bonnet-nose, while the 1390 doesn't BR Jan
  15. Hi all, Bought myself one of these, really nice detailled Volvo FH4 truck, DieCast, scale 1:24 by Solido from an Italian supplier: As well as a nice scalemodel of my favorit car, Opel Manta A: Best regards< Jan
  16. Hi, The IH956 was promissed for 2022.................... Other manufacturers are also supplying this model, maybe slighty different. But who can look behind the screens? Maybe in China they all use the same factory........? We'll be surprised to see more of these clones............ BR Jan
  17. Hi Hugh, Looks impressive, but just a question: what's on your last picture? Are you making steps or something? BR Jan
  18. Hi all, On my workbench, since the beginning of this year, the AMT-kit of the D8H-bulldozer (from Caterpillar). Although i'm planning to build it being the D8K, and therefor need to build me the right cab for it. Until now i make a good progress, being satisfied, but still need a whole lot to do...... Have a nice day! BR Jan
  19. Hi again, Well, i have to add some information here. Unpacking the 160-90, to my surprise, the left and right fender-wideners were packed in a small bag underneath the bottom to where the model is attached. So they are present, but not mounted, and you can decide for yourself what to do. I like that, to have choice! Only a pitty that when you don't attact them, you'll have two holes in the fenders. BR Jan
  20. Hi all, Bought myself two of the new items tonight. Fiat 160-90DT and 180-90DT. Comin' home and did a firm check, noticed the 160-90 didnt't have the fender-wideners as the 180-90 does....... Checked some websites of suppliers, and found different results. Not a big deal really, but just a pitty of two extra holes in the fenders.......... But check for yourself how inattentive production is these days: https://www.carmodel.com/ros-model/301160/1-32/fiat/160-90-turbo-dt-tractor-1986/162107 Left mounted on right side, and right mounted on left-side. 🤨🤨🤨 BR Jan
  21. Very promissing build, although not common on the continent.! I will follow your progression John. Good luck!! BR Jan
  22. Hi all, Today, Saturday January 14, 2023, there was a small regional Trade-fair of the Dutch Farm Toys Club, L.C.N. This was held at the "Polder Pioneers Foundation", who owns a growing collection of old farm machinery and tractors which were used by the "Government Service for the IJsselmeer-polders", abbreviated to R.IJ.P. in the early days. This used to be the government-company that developed and constructed the polders in the former "Zuyderzee", today called IJsselmeer. The fair itself was quite small, some nice models and diorama's there, but of course it is a special occasion on itself to see old equipment from the R.IJ.P. Some members of the foundation are even old-employees of the R.IJ.P. Since i became a donor of this foundation, i've visited the site before. When you like to take a look at their activities, look at their website: https://www.stichtingpolderpioniers.nl/ To give you an impresion of the fair i took some pictures, as showed underneath: Have a nice weekend! BR Jan Some old equipment in scale today Farmers' protest: Dutch Flags upside-down. Farmers protest An overview of the shed in which some old Caterpillars Must look familiar to UK-residents...........
  23. Nice work Jack. But a little piece of advice: make yourself an easy Spray Booth. A large cardboard box for instance will do nicly, and your overspray will not travel your whole room....... Good luck!! BR Jan
  24. Hi, I mostly agree with you New Hollander. I've worked for the importing company for about 8 years, and saw the quality of the German models decreasing after the production line was moved from Neuss Germany to Doncaster. This of course was because Neuss had to produce the new Maxxum-series. The story went that for instance the XL-cabs, made in France originally, had to cross the North Sea channel twice, and due to that, they already were rusting at arrival. A couple of employees from Doncaster came to fix up the cabs, to get rid of the rust..............Salty water and metal sheet clearly don't match........ About sales-numbers: we sold the '85-series, which evolved to the '95-series, and later on to the 3200 and 4200-series. But numbers didn't came anywhere selling numbers of the German versions. Even though the U.K.-tractors were quite cheaper....... Reading a lot of posts here on this forum has made me frown my eyebrows regularly 'cause i've seen type-numbers getting by which even i didn't know existed...... Probably older typenumbers from pre-'85-series era. No hard feelings to the U.K. though, but i asume a manufacturer of scalemodels, like U.H. for instance, tries to get salesnumbers as high as possible, so wil aim for a large market. And that is simply the world-market. We will see what happens. As long as there is movement, we should not loose hope!! Have a nice day! BR Jan
