here a photo's of my layout that i had at our local show in wick caithness at the start of the year,i used plaster for the yard, when it was wet,i ran a tractor over it then painted it brown so looked like mud with tractor tracks!looked very smart!
Looks excellent mate, good idea with the tracks and good use of the brushwood buildings
;)
Can i ask where you got the plough on the back of the 79/820
\ Looks smart

A real one, get some pictures taken and a few measurements.
Will do mate, it's one hell of a machine
-
Have you got a tridem??
The contractors have one they were using it when i got a ride in the combine but didn't have the combine so will have a look down the yard see if it is about
Or where you talking about a model? If so i will need to get one
-
The pit will look very reliastic, smart thinking there batman
Can't wait to see it finished. They have a similiar sort of pit if you want a pic or two?
-
You might get away with basing one of these on the Horsch......
These two on the bigger chassis.....
Was thinking that Jas but will maybe have a look down the yard tomorrow see if the tridem is reliasticly possible if not do the single
-
Sidewards, it could be doctored though I reckon.
Excellent, better get some plasticard then
-
NICE... What a monster... I bet she sounded sweet... how many legs is she pulling.. can't quite make it out in the picture 5 or 6
Are my eyes decieving me? Mr. Ferguson?
:D
He's got a point extremely good machine like her alot, bet you could hear that from a fair bit away. Never reliased how big they were until i stood next to one
:o Anyway nice pictures and thanks for sharing
-
Use the one from the Horsch..... I'll look at mine later and see if it would work.
Thanks mate
Does it fold out upwards or sidewards?
-
I think the Horsch is too big Nick, that hopper wouldn't be too hard to scrach build using plasticard and mounted on a siku chassis like the one on the Joskin tanker.
Very good thinking Jas, that actually sounds a lot better and easier than i originally had planned
What about the unloading auger? How could i create that or steal it from the Horsch cart and modify it?
All tips are still very welcome
:)

Try poster paint spattered on using a damp toothbrush or stippled with a dry paintbrush. Poster in the jar is pretty thick stuff and not expensive.
If you don't like the effect you can wash it off but it dries pretty hard if left long enough so is not too easily rubbed off but does not always take first time on a very shiny surface. If you need a key then a simple wash over with water works provided you allow it to dry on the model.
Thanks Leaky Vale will try it, i was thinking of a similiar idea for the wheels but it could work on the body too
\ Will let you know how i get on
-
OK guys well im working on a project at the moment to scale down a friend of mines John Deere 6620 so working on getting new wheels etc tax disc holders but it doesn't look quite right without dirt.
How can i get the best dirt effect that sticks? I thought maybe nesquik with PVA glue?
Let me know what you think and your own ideas
