  1. I don't think it is home made. There are quite a few differant implements along these lines. Some of them very strange to look at, meaning not obvious or apparent what they are supposed to be or do When you come across one of these you will know what I mean! Is the bit of harness made out of plastic? A nice bargain there 1972, buy it now by any chance?
  2. I bought one of these, with the early style rear wheels and about 95% mint, at a toy fair last year. I asked the seller the price and he replied 5, I asked ?500? and he said no ?5. It came inclusive with the implement lift. He also had some implements, these being tipping trailer;3f plough;hay tedder and discs. I bought the whole lot for ?20 including tractor Asking what it was worth I told him and he replied that he had only paid 50p, for each item I presume. You win some times and it don't half feel good
  3. 1972 when you refurbished the 6x did you take the plastic inserts off? how
  4. I reckon these tyres could be on the version with cast steering column
  5. Oops, sorry TBF I stand corrected I shall go and stand in the corner with dunce hat on
  6. Have you the first version of the farm lorry on rubber tyres? they are as skinny as that! Or put another way no thicker than the metal hub.
  7. You lucky so and so! As a dealer friend said to me "you put in the leg work so you are going to get a bargain every now and again"
  8. Like 'em 1972 Have any of the high majors got the really skinny tyres on the front?
  9. From seeing the conversions you have already done I don't think you will have any problems at all, you are more than halfway there! I can only think of obvious things like original literature/parts books and lots of photographs of good unrestored/unmolested examples to work from. If you are intending to build more than one then the first is your pattern, but you already know this. Like I said obvious and probably not much help, sorry \.As regards casting, you could contact one or more of the FTF members who do this and/or obtain farm & site models magazine issue 5. Makes it look easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Hope this is some help.
  10. Thanks Colm. I'll be looking out for some brochures now.
  11. I cheated and bought a DBP 1124, very nice model, but not cheap! As regards details I'm not the best person to ask as I've yet to do a conversion, aside from changing tyres on a 20 series JD from the current range. What do you mean, exactly, by "adding the correct detail"?
  12. Rotopeds next? as per pictures in vintage tractor special 14
  13. Lookin' good 1972, super 6 next? Whats on the high major in the background looks like a muledozer or is it work in progress - county crawler?
  14. I've gotta ask, bit you don't need to answer, which ones?
  15. Thought so. A good read/guide. I'd like to know where he gets all them bargain prices from, I wouldn't mind a few of them ;D
  16. There's a picture in the '58/'59 catalogue in the farm series, 59F four-wheeled lorry with driver. What book are you looking in TBF?
  17. No pictures 1972, or is this a trick? Didn't see the ambulance, under what subject matter on ebay? As regards the info, your welcome, although I do waffle on a bit, doing it now
  18. I've got a few of these in various guises, not this cab though. That's the last version, of cab, not made for very long, I think. Earlier version did not have split screen, similar cab style. First version looked like a lorry from its era, 1930's.Square nose/bonnet. First version (pre war) came with 4; 6 and 10 wheels with the wheels and tyres made of metal (one piece). This version also came with rubber tyres in the same configuration. Second cab style with same tyre combinations. I've not seen a 10 wheeler yet! Last version only issued as 4 wheeler, I believe. Early floats had a wooden floor, so the trailer is derived from this. Latter versions had plastic wheel inserts
  19. Your welcome. There was a standing/feeding cow on e-bay this week, no tail one ear and one horn possibly some teeth marks and drool . Can't remember what it went for. It was with a load of other animals peeking out behind something, listed as damaged. I had to ask for exact damage. A lot cheaper than my one though.
  20. Your cabs are 6x style and not ddn, finishes them of well though. This was going to be my next question, but you are way ahead of me These cabs also available in blue as well as yellow. Ddn one's are not as as tall and don't have the bit's that go under the fuel tank, they don't fit quite as well either due to this. Only found this out when I bought an early blue cab and was comparing it, one day, to the cabs on my other majors, left them on though. Both style of wheel available on the yellow major, early one's had ddn style, later one's ford style. Have a look in the David Pullen book and compare them, if available.
  21. The Peter Cole book lists all the '59 cattle as being available in brown, doesn't mention the calf though, there is also a colour picture of the 3 cows. I've never seen the bull in brown. The '57 Herald bull is also available in brown, usually with a white patch on it. OOOOOOPs Just worked out my lying down calf is from the '57 Herald issue, albeit with the latter Britains marking's on base, It's in a slightly lighter shade of brown . It's possible the other '57 calves are available in the same colour
