  1. Shelftalkers! shouldn't they have batteries in? bit like the birthday/christmas cards you can get? Imagine the noise Last bit for now. Shelf-edger in Britains parlance Small World version. I can't remember were I obtained this one from \ A lucky acquisition More to come...............
  2. A little bit more Shelf edgers. First version in card, first introduced in 1982 as item No. 78. These have to be folded before placing on shelf edge, and that is what I had to do for this picture. There are some unfolded examples behind. It was superseded in 1986........ ..........by this version, in plastic and already folded before being replaced by this version. Sorry no date for this as issued during the Petite era which was replaced by this version, 1996 to 1997 when these images were used Oh, and some of my small collection
  3. Two more, for the animal ranges. Farm first, item No.93. They were both introduced in 1977 and deleted at the end of 1981 Wild life, item No. 92. I purchased a few bits and pieces of POS from a trader and it included four of these, only this one left now had to keep one. I traded the other three for a major on steel wheels, the first version with external headlamps, which were missing This last one dates from 1971, as item No.82. I would imagine it was only available for the one year because it is virtually identical to the cover of the 1971 customer catalogue. Another purchase from Zwolle
  4. Okay, another instalment. Its good to hear others are enjoying this, thanks. Right, first up tonight are a few window stickers...........This one dates from the late 60s I believe, as item no. 39. I only have two trade catalogues from the 60s, 63 & 64, then from 1972 to date. It was superseded by this version, again item No. 39, in 1977 and deleted at the end of 1981. A quick glance at them and you would think them to be the same, the differences are quite subtle
  5. Nigel/Marky, thank you for that I want one. I think the one my sister had was round, a few years ago now Marmitemania, go for it , be brave, be very brave. It will be nice to know how you get on. Tune in for another episode tomorrow
  6. Last ones for tonight. These date from after 1998 approximately when the Authentic Farm Models logo was reintroduced in an altered version from that which had first been used in 1989 changing in 1990 and again in1992 before being dropped in 1996. I came across one of these in a toyshop and made enquiries to the assistant who said she would speak to the owner on my behalf. Returning at a latter date I found the poster still there with some of the animals removed because the owner needed them for a sale I had offered to pay more than what the animals were worth to secure the poster for myself :'( It wasn't a total loss though as the assistant saved this one for me The Rosette Range was introduced in 1993 during the Petite era. That's it for tonight
  7. A carrier bag Needs a bit of a clean!
  8. An Autoway cube from 1984-86, No. 0081. The one shown in the 1984 trade catalogue appears to be a mock up as it bears no resemblance to this
  9. Last card backed poster, farm animal range No. 0086 as before issued 1986, also available as a paper poster. I can only assume that they stopped supplying this material because the 1986 trade catalogue is the last to carry point of sale items, this was the year they were taken over by Petit so possibly because of this! POS material was reintroduced, in the catalogues, following the takeover by The Ertl company, 1997. The first trade catalogue to show/advertise it, that I have, being the 2002 one.
  10. Next. Because the farm range of models is constantly changing a new card backed poster was issued in 1982, again as No. 0074. There were a couple of new releases in the farm animal range but it did not get a new poster, using the same one as 1981 This version was issued in 1983 and also used 1984-85, again as No. 0074 A new release for the farm animal range in 1983 also used 1984-85, again as No. 0086
  11. Episode IV A NEW HOPE, some more for you to peruse, mostly posters/boards. Here goes......... These date from 1981 and are card backed posters that fold from top to bottom, but are not bent in half you can make out the creases in the pictures. FRom the top they are No. 0074 and 0086
  12. Thank you for your comments, more to come To me the POS items have a certain charm and I feel have enhanced my collection. I have obtained most items from various toy traders, some from shops........the trick here is not to be afraid or embarrassed to ask, I've acquired a few bits this way, I will tell more as items are listed. For the last 18 months a few pieces from that well known online trading place As regards value..................most definitely, as I am sure you will agree that most was discarded when replaced with the latest display item :'( Let me guess...........its up in the loft/packed away with the rest
  13. One of my sisters had a sew on patch, it came out of a girls comic, "The Bunty" I think. So we know what you read!!!!!!!!!!!! I was most indignant at the time because I had the Britains toys big kid. You are going to have to dig it out and show us, insert hopeful smiley.
  14. Some more. Card Display Stand Military Cat No.0095. First issued in 1977, being listed as Card Display Stand in the 1978 catalogue becoming Blue Display Stand in 1979. There was also a green coloured version, this being the right hand whilst the blue one is the left hand Mini Set dispenser, from 1968-9. They were changed to a flat tray type in 1970. Miniset advertising/display card showing the first series before the 5000. I'd like to be paying those prices .This price is also marked on the dispenser, although it cannot be seen in the pictures. both
  15. Right, next lot. These were made, apparently, for the 1964 Brighton Toy Fair. Anyone fancy making a trip? To give you an idea of how big, or little, it is The major was bought by my dad at a Horsham Historics vintage rally, between 1978-80 at a guess, for the princely sum of 75p. At that time these were hardly ever seen, now they are like double decker buses!
  16. Some nice pics. I made it into the video, as a spectator, where they were coming into to the field after registering. It was a good place to take photos Your last two pictures give some idea of the amount of smoke created when they kicked off.
  17. I'd like to see/have one of them. One or two will turn up again, I hope
  18. These cards could be hung up by some thread through the holes in the top edge or slid on to the Stock cabinet, mentioned by Nigel. You mean this one? There are several different versions of these, this one was supplied from 1970 as item No. 79
  19. Okay, in no particular order, here goes........ Farm Life display card No. 86, first used in 1973, this was a Zwolle purchase a few years ago. Detail from card I know its not farm related, but it completed the set Wild Life display card No. 87, also from 1973
  20. Thanks for your replies chaps I made it to be 1980. The Nordsten drill was deleted at the end of 1979 as it was not in the 1980 catalogue. Whereas the Chafer Sprayer, Pottinger Loader Wagon and Fyson Elevator were all released in 1980. I presume the decision to delete the drill was made quite late and these cards were made up prior to it being taken I have more POS and will include it, as time allows, if you are interested?
  21. My first topic Does anyone else collect point of sale items? including catalogues, posters, window stickers and other display materials. Here, hopefully, is something I bought recently. It is approximately A4 sized and shows the operating features on some of the implements/machinery. Can you date it and explain why?
  22. Not tractors but I have a Sample Copy Police helicopter, and Unimog with pipe trailer from the Road Series. Sample Copy because this is what is on the lable underneath. I presume these could be called preproduction, I only found out when examining them at home. Bought from traders at different times and venues so by pure chance. The Police helicopter differs from the production one in minor ways. As for the Unimog I have not managed to buy a production version to compare it with. The mercedes star on the doors is cut out from the grill decal.
  23. Is that it? one new item, to interest me. Where's the New Holland forage harvester? that was shown in Tractor and Farming Heritage, I think its called!
  24. 5th, 6th and 7th Feb. I went last year and for me it was worth it. Watch out for the free soup its volcano hot
  25. Jewelltrac was the name given to tractors built up by L F Jewell Ltd following its aquisition of Roadless Traction in 1983. Was the Spirit of '76 sold as a model kit by Ertl?
