  1. I'm not interested in Siku, but curiosity got the better of me so I had a look, missing it the first time. If you scroll down a bit further you will come across a Britains JD crawler................? Go figure
  2. There is a picture of one of these in the now defunct farm and site models, issue 9. Also states that it may have come in bumper value pack 5004. Its the same colour as the autoway version, so they may have been using up old stock!
  3. Blue muledozers were available, I think they only came in the big sets. They come in various shades of blue, like the majors do!

    Wheels sizes

Is this the overall diameter of the rim or the diameter of the rim where the tyre bead is seated? I've seen a truck tyre explode, on the M25. It was in the next lane over, to the right, and in front of us, until the tyre went bang ........... then it was in front of us, doing crazy things!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. If you pay peanuts you get monkeys!
  6. According to the pocket guide some of these were sold without the cab, so it is not necessarily missing As regards value, are YOU buying or selling?
  7. What is a Puma 180 MFD Is this an American issue What does SKU mean
  8. No, its fine. My 5000 has a bit of a gap but nothing to get concerned with.
  9. Bought mine yesterday at Great Dorset, I like it. A few comments. Front and rear tyres are larger than 5000 ones, cab is a complete new moulding with separate lower panel, bonnet side decals not brilliant, as mentioned, dual power ones are though! weight frame a little bit too long, wings sit properly now but no rear lights. Quality control is not brilliant as regards bonnet decals and fixing of pre cleaner and exhaust to bonnet - glue residue, mine are straight though Plenty of scope to mix and match with the 5000 chassis/parts
  10. Thats a nice County 1004 SPN, make it yourself?
  11. First released, as mentioned elsewere, in 1928 and deleted in 1960 with a break in production during the 40's. Early versions came with what is called the "fur hoofed" horse. As the '58-9 catalogue states "supplied complete with real log". Also available in green. Tractor version differs by having rubber tyres on metal hubs and a drawbar hitch, latter versions had plastic hubs. Last type was an all new metal and plastic casting with ackerman steering and these too came with a real log.
  12. Its a bit of a bu99er trying to put the end flap back in
  13. I had a look in the Case album, by Allan Condie, and this looks like a model C to me, from 1930 to ?
  14. I subscribed to this magazine, with one outstanding, as others. My subscription was taken out with Old Pond, not anyone else, so I think its only fair that they pick up the pieces and I applaud them for so doing. I have not received a letter though
  15. What make is the Nuffield Universal? It looks to have Britains style steering

Pre cleaner at back, near cab, so 6 pot As regards sloping bonnet on 774, I stand corrected

    Sloping bonnet, so 1164 or1174
  18. Going by the knobbly tyres I'd say this is from not long after they were first released, which was 1975. Tailgate should be the same colour as the body.
  19. :D :D :D :D You will have to show them all now '72, with boxes and a tractor to give some idea of size
  20. Thanks for that makes me feel soooooo much better Hate to admit, but I did read that thread. My excuse being that it was more than a week ago and I have a terrible memory, so I will have forgotten all this by the time it comes out
  21. I've been looking in T&M and there are quite a few 6Y models with the latter style of cab, so a big bowl of humble pie for tea tonight after my earlier rant, me thinks
  22. They have made a new bonnet casting and still got it wrong, as regards exhaust, so why bother Okay I am being picky about the cab roof, but they could have made the correct cab front with the deeper windscreen that dropped either side of the instrument panel on the thousand series. This would have given them the opportunity to release the 7A range with the bubble cab and still get two models from one basic casting with a few compromises, from this they could have moved on to the series 10 range with a new bonnet. There you go wishful thinking, RC2 and I think I just saw a flying pink elephant Oi cheesy feet get your shoes and socks back on now! yes it was intended
  23. This looks like a decal job on a 7000 bonnet only!!!!!!!! okay also front and wheel weights and back window As TS135A said wrong exhaust and its in the wrong place as per the TFT 6600 This appears to be RC2 saving money, more like being cheapskates, by making one set of moulds do all versions. We have a thousand series bonnet and a 7A cab, which should have ribs on the roof and the mounting brackets on the gearbox (all versions). I think this may have been mentioned elsewhere, so sorry for that. Where are they getting their information/data from? not Ford I shouldn't think or old brochures. Looks like they are using a restored example that is not strictly accurate in not having the correct parts fitted during restoration. Someone will shoot me down in flames if these cabs were introduced towards the end of the thousand series production, as it is quite possible, and I will walk out under the door feeling not very high What next a 4000, after all apart from the front axle mounting casting they are the same length bar 1" Yes I know they have a three pot motor as well Rant over, I will still buy one though
