  1. a britains john deere 8440 via amazon £3.70 plus postage . took 3 wks to come but im very happy with my bargin. the night i ordered it there was one on ebay bid to £51!!!! daft bu##ers
  2. dad used to have a real one that he took as a dept payment. we were never a lover o f it to tell the truth, as it needed easy start to fire it up. eventually the engine popped while i was turning hay. i never knew there was a mk1 and a mk2 version paul, what was the difference between them?

    snow just lying on the high ground here but with the strong winds , drifts were filling the roads . rain everywhere else

    snowed solid yesterday n last night. got 15 inches of snow on the lawn. was out ploughin n gritting up the valley . quite a few roads will need to be opened up by the snow blower. one contractor admitted defeat as the drift he was tackling was the height of his tractor
  8. best if ya have a gritter behind ya harry . down here we find the tractors just polish the roads if their not fitted with a gritter making it harder for anything travelling on it later on

  11. knocked my favorite coffee mug off the draining board this morning n broke it . ive had it for over 14 years
  12. gritting most of the day since 4am , no snow to speak of . all was well till the wagon set off vibrating while traveling. u.v joint on the front prop shaft knacked up. by the time i got back to the depot it had rattled the transfere box loose
  13. Alex, know what ya mean about the jd 2650 , i drove a 2wd model with a low sg2 for years , it too being f reg . that tractor could pull for england

  18. cheers Bill, where i live at allendale , the new years eve custom is a bon fire in the village square. it is lit by about 20 guysers who are in fancy dress. these men carry barrels of burning tar on their heads and parade around the village chasing the old spirits out n welcoming the new year before throwing them on to the fire its very popular with tourists but now were down to 3 pubs ,its abit cramped Bill i do hope you n your close family n friends had a cracking new years and may this year be great

  20. watchin films with the kids n got a call from the boss wantin me to go gritting the high ground route at 5 tonight n again at 5 in the morning
  21. no models but got 2 tickets to see mrs browns boys live at the metro arena at newcastle . excellent
