What is the best model you have bought in 2011?
robbo replied to masseyferguson390's topic in General Hobby Discussion
The last one.............then the one before that..................then the one before that.................I love 'em all and each one is better than the last. BUT my favourite of the year is the Same Buffalo kit that JDC put together for me -
I haven't got much in the way of a brochure collection and certainly nothing on the scale of some on here however, I was at the local AGCO dealership this week and I picked up the full range of MF, Fendt and Challenger brochures that they had in the showroom. Looks like I may be starting to crumble and start yet another collection \ \ \ Did anyone see the programme this week about compulsive hoarders...................... ;)

Tractor theft.......again
robbo replied to robbo's topic in General Discussion / Off topic discussion & Everything Else
between 17.00 16/12/11 and 06.00 17/12/11 at Allerton Park, Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, offenders have entered a rural aggregate quarry and taken a John Deere 6910 and diesel bowser containing red diesel, reg number V423LRN, vehicles were then driven off across fields. Any updates to intell@avcis.pnn.police.uk -
I think that I must be the opposite of most people on here. I did most of my tractor driving in the 70's and early 80's before I joined the Force. I have driven Massey Fergusons, David Browns, Fords, Internationals, Fiats, Deutz, John Deere and of course Sames. What I would like to have a go on nowadays is a really up to date, modern, flick of a switch type tractor just to see what the job is like today where I can change gear on the move without double de-clutching and losing momentum. Air conditioned so that it is cool in the summer and heated in the winter with a radio/CD/i-pod dock to help to pass the time. We can all look back with rose tinted spectacles but I remember them being cold, draughty and having to wear ear defenders because of the noise. I had hessian bags across my knees and chapped hands that extended half way up my arms not to mention the chilblains on my poor old feet. They were great on warm sunny days but horrible through the winter.................

er .....no.... not quite what I meant. What I do in work and what I do out of work are never mixed.

Ebay
robbo replied to Mickheff89's topic in General Discussion / Off topic discussion & Everything Else
I assume that you have an account with eBay and that you have got a "My Ebay" page. Click on "sell" at the top of the page and then this will give you 2 options, Quick sell or Advanced sell. Select Advanced and when you get to the bit where you set your asking price there is an option for a "Buy it Now" price Just be aware that a buy it now has higher fees than an auction format. You can of course, use both the auction and buy it now together but as soon as you get a bid it cancels the buy it now which will disappear from the listing. -
Good heavens John, that is a work of art 8) 8)

I'll tell you when it gets here ;) postage is a bit steep but he claims to be sending it from Czechoslovakia

The G & M website now has the Fendt 514C in green rather than the orange Kommunal version. Is there any difference other than the decal to the standard 515 version? Personally I'm not paying £47 for just a decal change \ \ \

The Model World is not immune

That is quite worrying, not just for model collectors, but also for the wider economy as China is supposed to be one of the few countries bucking the recession and still producing. \ \ -
If anyone want to take what a comic book character like Jeremy Clarkson says as being real meaningful comment then they need to get a reality check and, before I get criticised ................I am a public service employee with a public service pension.....they need to just have a laugh and get over themselves At least the Government spokesman had the right idea "we have no plans to introduce execution at this time......." ;D

eh.. whereabouts in Warrington are you?

Convo had a pink John Deere at Penrith, you might be able to give him a call to do one for Spalding in April ;)

Spalding v Zwolle Topic (split from 2011 Zwolle topic)
robbo replied to mrol's topic in Events and Shows
That is part of the problem, we want the show to develop and continue to grow, to become more than just a big toy shop. When you see the likes of Zwolle for the overall experience and then Toytrac and Moira for the dioramas we want Spalding to cater for the whole hobby. -

Population density is one thing but can you say for sure that the areas with the highest population are going to give you the highest attendance? I would suggest that tractor collectors tend to come from the less populated and more agricultural areas which is why Spalding and the East of England have done well in the past. I still think that Peterborough would be a reasonable choice as it is still close enough to the agricultural heartland but with better transport infrastructure than Spalding. Hillview........I don't think that Penrith can get any bigger without a move to another venue, the rooms that we use are on the second and third floor of the building so there is no further room to expand. Other than that it is almost the perfect venue, 1/2 mile off the M6 and with the Lakeland Visitor Centre on the first 2 floors so there is plenty to do for the non farming wives/partners. -
That's quite a good price as they are 79 euros from the Challenger store http://www.challengerstore.com/shop.php?sid=1111251912N3TiqprY&lang=2&wg1=3&wg2=0&id=146&suche=&seite=1&cont=dt Then there is postage on top
