  1. New Holland have done a real tractor with the flag on the bonnet and taken it round the shows, I am sure I have seen it in Classic Tractor. If I get either of the models it will probably be the flag version
  2. Thanks for the description Sean :'( :'( :'( Jordan I am in work tonight from 10pm tonight so I will check up on the legal database on the position for you.
  3. I have been away playing golf last week and I saw this poor old Lambo parked up at the back of the greenkeepers shed

    hauling hp

As a very rough guide yes but if you have hills or some tough hauling no, not enough. As with many things that you ask, there are a lot of variables that affect individual circumstances so it is very difficult to give a specific answer.
  5. It is really going to depend on your definition of a "hobby farm", what your budget is and what acreage you have got. Most small modern tractors up to 90/100 hp would probably fit the bill but if you only have 40/50 acres then you would be better off looking for a well cared for or restored classic.
  6. Any round where I finish with the same ball I started with is a good round, it doesn't happen very often and I think golf balls cost me about as much as tractor models sometimes. If I can shoot 85-90 then it is an OK round. I have always said that I can draw the ball and fade the ball.........I just don't know which one I am going to do before I hit it! [
  7. Cleaning my golf clubs this morning as we are off on our annual 3 day trip colloquially known as "Death by Golf" tomorrow. 3 courses in 3 days with 27 holes on each day, this year we are going to Harlech, Nefyn and Porthmadog in North Wales (plus beer in the evenings of course).

  9. Glad it works Tris, I would have been a bit peeved if it hadn't after all that we went through to get it to you ;) ;D ;D
  10. The nearest I can find in the books I have got would be the 1968/70 Eicher Woton 3014 which had a 6 cylinder diesel engine. However in 1970 Massey Ferguson bought a 30% stake in the company and they started to use Perkins engines. Marky might know a bit more about them from that date on. Good luck ;)
  11. ooh I hope so, Zetor Crystal would be nice, note to self, must wait ;) ;) all will be revealed in good time
  12. Doh! that will teach me to read what I have written before I hit post [ [ [
  13. It's what really annoyed me yesterday actually. A colleague and I were at a meeting in Newbury and we were due to stay overnight at the Travelodge at Chieveley Service area on the M4. The first problem was that it was a double bed and we had booked for a twin room. Now I know my colleague quite well, but not that well and there is no way that we were going to share a double bed. The room also smelled of dirt and BO. When we had initially approached the receptionist she said that there was a sofa bad in the room and that was all they had available. She even laughed out loud at the thought of two rather large middle aged men sharing the bed, I on the other hand was not amused. I asked to see the manager and she said "you can if you want to wait for tomorrow"................by now there was steam coming out of my ears! However we decided to check out this "sofa bed". The sofa bed turned out to be a dirty filthy sofa with a rip on the arm and, when we lifted off the seat cushion, there was a used condom packet underneath. Neither of us could fit on it, it was only just about big enough for a 12/13 yr old child. This was too much > > To save me really losing it this time my colleague then went to reception. This time the receptionist was even more offhand and stated that the room had been checked before we got there and it wasn't there then, she intimated that we must have put it there as we didn't want to stay in the room anyway. Did you know that a volcano had erupted in Newbury? > Well yesterday afternoon, it did. The pair of us stormed out and then drove back to Cheshire as every other hotel in the area was already fully booked. With the exception of the Spalding Travelodge it will be a long time before either of us stay in one of them again. A letter of complaint has gone in this morning. > > > >

  22. Place I worked at in the late 70's had 2 x 100 acre fields however, they later divided each of then on two with a hedge and wildlife strips to comply with the regulations. I remember the farmer saying to me that he had spent the last 30 years pulling out hedges and he would probably spend the rest of his life putting them back in again.
  23. Well done to all the organisers looks like you had a good day and I am also looking forward to the write up, c'mon Bill get a move on!
  24. I have got a Repliagri Fiat that needed a star bit to get the screw out, I had to go and buy one before I could get it off the plinth :(
  25. Similar I suppose. The Wiking version is totally enclosed and comes in two halves. The other good thing is that if you decide that a model is no longer required on display and has been superseded then it can go back safely into the box and be held just as securely as if it was new. Unlike those that were held by the wire ties that will now be loose in the box and liable to get damaged as it is almost impossible to replace them if like me you just cut them with wire clippers.
