ooppps, yes I am referring to the 285, think I may have partly answered my own question  ::)

Yes was made up but don't know by who after there was a tractor blow up on the original. Was from the Aberdeenshire area according to Graham firstly on a farm near Turriff and then he bought it from the St Fergus oil terminal ( Peterhead ) area.

Great pics Bill. I'm not a big Leyland fan, but the 285 looks good, was that a 6 cyl. Seeing the exhaust up behind the cab reminds me of working on a potato harvester pulled by a Leyland when I was a boy :D

Yes it was a "six pot" Mark and sounded good.... Graham was certainly putting it through it paces and enjoying himself ;D ;D

yep, the 285 & 2100 are 6 cylinders with exhausts up the nearside rear cab pillar. I'm looking forward to seeing Charnley's recently-completed restored Bray 470 at the Newark show (well, I think it's gonna be there?)

Thanks for the pics Bill. I took a load at The National Ploughing Match yesterday at Marden ,Kent. I'll send a few for Markie to post up.

Looking forward to the pictures Nigel.

That must be very light land - 4f on a 70hp tractor  :o

Nice selection there Bill ;)

It's a funny soil down there but fertile I'm told. Only 60 miles from me but totally different from the darker black stuff we have in Aberdeenshire. More sandy with a slight clay content and the stones are not round but flat sandstone ones Colm.

dont let murray hear i like some blues  :P  :D i've always liked leylands since my cousin has a 272 and my uncle used to have a nuffield since i was small, so i grew up with them  ;D

I think Leyland suffered a lot of criticism because they were British and had bad brakes to name but a few of their weaknesses.... however nice to see some being preserved and put through their paces ;D ;D

Lovely pics there even the 674 ploughing

if the 674 was hooked up to the johnson potato

digger it would be tractor porn to me  :P :P :P :P

loved the leylands and brays aswell  ;) ;) :-*

Yes I must admit I have an affection to those IH 674 since I remember driving them many many year ago on trailer work...such a nice advanced gear box and cab on them.

Leyland well I have used one too can't remember which model other than L reg and was back filling an electricity trench with a Cameron Gardner rear loader that used to be used on my Nuffield DM4

Nice to see the Bray too since not too many around.
