jdc Posted November 15, 2008 Share Posted November 15, 2008 My neighbour is retiring at the age of 81 this year and asked me to tidy up his machinery which was in a hedge bottom (he has no steading) and said I could have it to dispose of as I saw fit.(I've done all his work for the last 20 years) I've dragged it into the yard and there are a couple of tidier bits which I'll keep but most is not collectable...or is it? There is also a MF290 he is selling, and stacks of horse harness and ploughs. Old cultivator and drill plough - not Massey - pale blue paint. A 'dykeback' plough - don't know maker. powerrabbit Posted November 15, 2008 Share Posted November 15, 2008 The spring-tine cultivator is by Taul, I have one of those and it's very usefull. Reversible plough is a Ransomes. Disc harrows, MF28 of the early 1980's. Hay turner, Vicon-Leley 'Acrobat'. The plough with the off-set wheel looks like a late MF hedge plough, same sort of period as the discs. Like others have said, ebay it. Get it servicable and stick it on ebay. If it doesn't sell, try the next collective farm sale. Failing that, wait untill the scrap price comes back round in afew years and scrap them then. Nice to see your black Labrador was taking a keen interest and inspecting the collection too ;) You mentioned horse harness and horse ploughs now I've seen some that that stuff especially harness sell for good money in the past.
