For 4wd you can buy the JOAL front axles (mudguards or no mudguards) from lots of places. www.farmmodels.co.uk springs to mind

For front axles your best bet is the Britains JD4020, particularly if you want a working axle and very realistic wheels.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the effort guys, but I did know about those :) - I'm not paying ?7.75 for a joal front axle, I'd be out of my mind to do that when you can get the whole tractor for ?9inc p&p . The JD front axle is good, but again once you take the rear tyres off and links, you are left with junk - and ?10 is a lot for that one useful piece.

What I am suggesting is a cast axle designed purely as the basis for conversions. would white metal be too fragile? would resin work?

i would aggree with you there dave,,but also with ihp,it does seem a shame to breask a reasonable tractor, but is worth it for the effect,i would have to asume the joal ones won't take small 2wd wheels would they? would you have the width across the front axel of a jd4020 buy any chance dave,i wouldn't want to buy one and find it's too wide for the job
