mr softie
you,s may laugh but all i use is a 4 inch grinder, ordinary draper electric drill and a £15 soldering iron, and around 15 different files and thats it,had a dremel but only lasted me a year and was dissapointed at that so next time i buy a similar product to the dremel itll be a draper at half the price......if the dremel only lasted a year then i wouldnt spend the money on a new one.....i believe it is not about the tools but about producing a model form scratch and only using the bare essentials its good to see that you manage to put out top quality models with the basic tools brian , and very interesting to see the tool list that you use for making them thanks for shareing with us

Deere-est
The fitted blade does various materials but not neccessarily the same thickness in each material. The two extras, one is for stainless steel and the other I havn't translated yet

Deere-est
Brilliant, I expect it is getting a fair bit of use at your work station mate so a rating like that is pretty damn good.

Deere-est
Go for it at that mate, anywhere between there and £120 I think is reasonable. I think Traci paid a shade more that that but not a lot more.

Farmersam
Are the dremmels suitable for sanding plastic?
Deere-est
I have found them to be, Sam. I have found though, using them for drilling to be a bit of a bugger as the drill bits are so small they bung up with melted plastic. Better off drilling the slow way, by hand. Tractorman810
been looking at dremmels the last few days ,as i need a new small drill as my 18v dewalts to big really for the fine bits i am making, been put of them a bit, mainly down to drill sizes they can take, so looks like i am going for one of these 10.8 v bosch mini drill drivers,
Old Ford
Think they are good Sean if its the one with the light weight slim litheum battey .
Tractorman810
is that the dremel or the drill mate??? like i say the dremmel doesnt quite fit my requirements really, and they price in nigh on the same as the drill i am looking at?? dam hard choice i must say, may leave it and buy one of them saws tris has instead : the dremel i tried at b&q seemed quite uncomfortable in the hand compaired to the drill, and the charge times longer to
Old Ford
the drill.
Tractorman810
yeah the lightweight ones the one i am after choice is a drill alone or poss for 50 quid more a impact driver to in a box set, but not sure i would use the impact driver, but seperatly they are 100 quid each, so 150 for both?? I'm a few years late to the party here, but I've just ordered a simple set of tools on ebay. Didn't cost much but I guess it'll do for experimenting with the plastic and wood materials
