My britains lorries

Recommended Posts

This is an arctic trailer I've been working on over the last few weeks theres still quite a bit of work to do on her yet.Ive scratch built the trailer from plasticard/struct but have used britains axles and mudguards, still need to sort the slidings door on the back yet that could now b a little tricky as I've already glued the roof on! The idea is it to be a refrigerated trailer so will see how we'll I can make a condenser for the front of it. I've added mirrors to the tractor too and gave it coat of paint (white) am also thinking of adding (don't know what it's called haha) the bit on the roof of the cab. Here she is...[atttachment=67539:image.jpg]post-3634-0-89687700-1371076637_thumb.jppost-3634-0-77749300-1371076659_thumb.jppost-3634-0-46074600-1371076705_thumb.jppost-3634-0-75091200-1371076743_thumb.jp

The air deflector.

Also, don't forget the red diesel tank to be fitted under the trailer to run the fridge unit on the front. You have made a nice job of the trailer, buddy. To scale, how tall would it be if it were a real one?

Cheers thanks tris, I've not scaled it to be honest it's 100 mm high be 75mm wideI think it looks a bit too tall so may cut it down slightly which is a good thing as it will mean I can have a look at putting the sliding door railson the under side of the roof. Yes I shall need to put a tank in need to look bit more into the fridge unit yet may put the condenser on the roof yet am not sure. Ahh an air deflector thanks!

Any good? Sorry about the sideways shot. The other photo picks out the control panel on the near side. The Thermo King letters would do well for being blacked. I also found a small diesel tank which would look good painted up and slung under your trailer :)

It's 6.5cm tall and about 6.3cm wide, Jordan. I've got it with me at work in a Jiffy bag which I already had too so no, I don't want anything for it :)

PM me your address and I'll get it away to you today ;)

You've made some nice wagons there ,like the 8 wheeler goes well on the farm. You must have had a fair collection of lorry's to get all these wheels for them. The arctic is coming on well nice idea.  With that air deflector are you going to make the body of the trailer abit lower or are you going to leave it ?

Cheers thanks dan, I just try and get as many lorries as I can of eBay you can never have enough chassis or the right colour wheels at the right time, yes I will at some point lower the roof now I've put the deflector on it looks waaay to high!! Tris is kindly donating me a chiller unit for the trailer so when I get that il cut it down and sort the back door out.:)

Another small update started on the sliding door today, cut the roof off and put the rails for the door inpost-3634-0-08623100-1372110973_thumb.jp have split the door into four sections and for first idea have used string to attach them together to allow them to slide on the runner.post-3634-0-46374300-1372111140_thumb.jp here's the door in the rails but still needs some tweaking as its very stiff and doesn't slide very well yet, post-3634-0-78142900-1372111466_thumb.jp. I have also placed the chiller condenser on the front just to see what it would look like and it's perfect.( thanks tris the tanks great too!) post-3634-0-30583100-1372111614_thumb.jp thanks for looking Jordan:)

That's looking brilliant, Jordan!! The fridge unit sits on the front of that trailer just like it was always there too. Pleased it fitted and you were happy with it mate :) :)  And the tank looks good sat inbetween the landing legs too.

Your display looks very nice in the background too, especially the weathered loader loading the sideflinger.
