tractorboyjules1977 Posted December 12, 2015 Author Share Posted December 12, 2015 Things starting to dry out at last , with that the jcb ready to go out and clean up some much clogged field ditches , a job weve been putting off for a while . More and more orders for haylage coming in daily so off down to Pitt farm livery and drop off the 1st load of the weekend . Up at the AD plant the new tanker arrived on Friday morning so time for a short haul and a little trial session with the new toy , hoping all goes well as a direct replacement for the , tri axle joskin . tractorboyjules1977 Posted December 18, 2015 Author Share Posted December 18, 2015 Getting nearer to the Christmas holidays so work starting to die back for a week or so , yet more rain so no spreaders been out this week , but we've been manageing to get a few jobs done around the yard , 1st on the list was to pack up the remaining roofing sheets which we had over from the new workshop roof ,, then a chance to load up the bobcat which will be destined for seavington livery yard over the wknd , on hire for cleaning out there stable blocks .Over on the farm side the day to day duties continue such as straw chopping and the usual to & throw with the feeder wagon between the dairy and the livestock unit . tractorboyjules1977 Posted December 24, 2015 Author Share Posted December 24, 2015 Just a quick update before we all pack up and have a well earned few days off , with us shutting down for a few days all machines safely back in the yard all fuelled up ready for start up next week , The unbilical kit the last to arrive home tonight after a somewhat interesting day down at Johnsons at kingsbury , decideingly wet down on the levels !! We woke up this morning to 50 - 60 mph winds and that caused chaos 1st thing with fallen trees , so 1st job was to go out with the jcb and trailer and a couple chainsaws and get around loading up logs all morning , least we got plenty of wood over Christmas to keep the fire going ! tractorboyjules1977 Posted December 31, 2015 Author Share Posted December 31, 2015 End of year update , With the weather being so awful and a couple chaps getting itchy feet wanting to come in for a few hours a few of us decided to open up shop so to speak , the phone being constant with locals reporting fallen trees and banks being washed into the road it was all hands to the pumps so the chainsaws been on full pelt & we hitched up the road brush to the 724 and shot off out cleaning some roads to keep the locals happy ! with a bit of luck the new year will bring better weather ? Up at the straw yard preparing for another load of barley bales to go out tomorrow for Bakers @ Haselbury . In the workshop is our flat bed trailer being readied for use , With the ever increasing demand for haylage & straw we took the decision to go out and purchase a lorry , this will make life easier as we haven't gotta worry about long hauls and can now deliver anywhere in the uk giving us a wider customer base , on the plus side with the purchase of a tanker and a bulk trailer we have numerous options available , as with the tanker this will be used down at Somerest Agri Power AD plant alongside the tractor and tanker , this option was chosen to an increase in contracts for hauling waste water , the bulker on the other hand will be used for hauling Orchards corn and perhaps the possibility of lending a hand down at Oakley during busy times ! Fingers crossed this all plans out .There will be some changes happening around Orchard Farm in the near future as decisions will need to be made with the ever expanding size of acreage which at the moment stands around 3000 acres owned / rented land , Watch this space for further goings on down at Orchard , We would like to just say many thanks to all our customers old and new and wish everybody a happy new year ! 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

tractorboyjules1977 Posted January 8, 2016 Author Share Posted January 8, 2016 2016 underway now , didn't start too well on the tractor front with the 7930 going down with a fuel problem over the wknd , so in due coarse Smarts were called up quite rapidly and with being on call duely arrived to sort the problem . With the 79 dwn the 724 was sent up to the AD Plant to take on digestate duties for a while . Earlier in the week the slew arrived back in the yard , straight into the workshop for a look over before he goes off down to Oakley for a couple weeks on hire . Not much happening on the tractor front at the minute but a few reps been in this week trying to push some demos in which I expect we will be seeing in the next few weeks . 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
tractorboyjules1977 Posted January 17, 2016 Author Share Posted January 17, 2016 With a few dry days under our belt things been progressing nicely with the constant calls for umbilical to be used and the with the spreaders being sent out for the last 3 days some sort of normality at last .While the skeleton crew going out of the yard a couple of us decided to have a bit of spring tidy up , 1st job for the wknd was to move both the foragers around the workshop giving us enough space for when the combine arrives . 2nd job was to go and collect the main umbilical kit from the AD Plant ready for the team to go out tomorrow morning ,so the tanker will be running non stop at the AD Plant until one team returns later in the week . 3rd and final job for the wknd hitch up both bale trailers ready for delivering haylage / straw down to Mosterton stud tomorrow and weds .
