Well I've ordered my four in one from Mr Irwin and whilst looking round for some bits to make this version I asked someone for spare can turns out he's already made one and it's fantastic. His Facebook page is RCbedfordmodels There's more pics on there but he's one of his picsimage.thumb.jpg.cfcce38c80456d396204f3d9 its just brilliant.

So far I have made the rear legs, extending boom on the rear arm, painted the four in one wheels cab and buckets. Although the pics on the net doesn't show a quick hitch, it is piped for a hammer so I have added one to mine so as I can put a hammer on it. The cab is terrible so I will be doing that again tried masking and spraying it but that didn't work so I think il do it free hand instead. I've still got lines to put on the rear arm and to the rams on the front finish, off the wheels , add a data tag and some chevrons to the rear legs, wing mirrors and lights. So here's what I have done so far...

That's looking great , how did you do the extra dig ?

Thanks lads.

I use some square brass tube to make it. It's hard to explain how I did it haha I understand what I'm saying but when I read it back it sounds so confusing but I'll try though. Right if you look at the last pic you can just see where I cut most of one side out of the outer tube this allows you to then slide the smaller one inside and glue the bit which the Rams attached to on the smaller tube inside the bigger tube. Once that has set the smaller tube will slide in and out but won't come out as the bit you glue on hits the outer tube at the end of the arm. Hope you can understand it haha!!

I would say that it would be the guy I mentioned in earlier posts as he specialises in 3cx's He's just released a 5cx convo and he's also made this pothole master too and it definitely is a britains from that pic. Also the front grill needs to be yellow instead of black.

A lot of money for a dab of paint and a couple of decals::)

True but you could say the same for a 4 figure paint job on a real vehicle.

I suppose theres a lot of time in deconstructing and prepping each model as all the rivets have to be drilled out to paint individual components and then put back together unless they're being plucked off the production line before assembly. £260 for a model that's very close to being a toy is still rather steep though

That's true James as you can not get that shape with yellow hydraulic cylinders, I had to get an older shape and swap them all the over which was time consuming and the cab is a mare to paint too but that's probably down to me not being vey good at masking!!
