Hard to see because of the shadow caused by the wheel arch. I think the previous owner swapped the tracking-damaged front ones with the rears, seeing how much better the front ones currently are. I have been having trouble keeping the pressures correct, the ones given in the handbook look wrong after I've put air in . (It doesn't help having them given in kilopascals..) Yeah I did find some. I should use 4wd much more going up hills near us to relieve pressure on the front wheels. There was not enough room for me to pass between the cars let alone the lorry coming the other way. JoshParkinson Posted May 20, 2011 Share Posted May 20, 2011 Finding out i have a new D.T teacher, the last one was the most amazing teacher i ever had, he took time to explain things in detail, and knew a bit about farming so we often ended up chatting about how i was getting on at work! Unfortunately he started to lose his hearing and had to retire early, but this new bloke just moans, and does projects which are entirely pointless, I WAS going to take D.T for gcse, but now he's here i've dropped it and taken a construction college course instead, was just really annoyed about it because i was looking forward to doing D.T, but i'm quite happy to do construction now i've spoken to a few people about it. AlexMF Posted June 6, 2011 Share Posted June 6, 2011 vw/audi diesels have a reputation for turbo oil seals going and then they consume all of the oil.... a bit late now but after a long run in a turbo charged car, allow the engine to run for about a minute at tickover before switching off. this ensures the longevity of the turbo. or you can buy a turbo timer to do it for you! As for your Turbo Andy, thats certainly not an isolated incident, my ex workmate's 55 reg Seat tdi had the turbo blow on it last year at fairly low miles also the same week as he'd planned to change it. Definately seems to be the weak link on an otherwise solid engine. As for what annoyed me today, some absolute cretin thought it would be amusing to pull our irrigation pipes apart at some point over the past 10 days, it was purely by luck that it was the first watering of the field today so I drove the line and spotted them. They picked their place so it was somewhere we might have not looked otherewise, halfway along a 500m run of them on one headland.
