Anderson Agri Posted November 30, 2022 Share Posted November 30, 2022 Thought i'd share a few photos of the build, recently picked it up as a kit. It was my first attempt at building a scaledown kit and was happy with the results albeit a little fiddly. Firstly parts were assembled, the rotor is meant to be functional but i opted to build it onto the rotor as i didnt have the patience or a vice to do it properly, then a test fit on a tractor. In my parts bin in had a pair of Scaledown leyland 270 and 384 tractors that were damaged and had been butchered by someone, i picked them up cheap a couple of years ago. I decided it was the perfect tractor to add the trimmer too and would be period inkeeping with it, i had already had the new front axle and wheels from Nigel at Scaledown lying around so simple case of rebuilding it, i then ground down the axle to fit the base plate of the trimmer which i adapted using some plastic i had laying around, the tractor had no link arms as they were broken when i got it so perfect really. Also quickly built a guard up for the bonnet but unsure whether i will keep it or not depends what it looks like painted. Final set of photos from this evening, final paint on and dried, then added a couple of pipes and decals, the pipes were too fiddly for my hands so ive only added a couple but might add more when i have more patience, but happy with the build and its a nice model, just awaiting a few more bits to finish it off i will share photos when i get them 6 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Tractorman810 Posted November 30, 2022 Share Posted November 30, 2022 very nice work zac, i guess having the scaledown leyland up front helps keep the wheels down as they are pretty weighty kits , i know mine when in the folded back transport position lifts the front of uh 7810 with no problem into sky high position. bonnet guard looks good even un painted , but would that be a bit new for the time ? most would have been a could of old sacks or a sheet on the bonnet metal work ,well ours was will you do a window guard as well ?? 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

No trouble with the weight issue, it sits snugly on it without even wanting to be nose heavy Im unsure with the bonnet guard, it probably is too new but being able to make a sack might look out of place, i was thinking the guard might make it look a bit tidier.
