What have you been doing or plan on doing today?

Starting to empty and pack up my sheds, (I have 4 of them), ready for my house move that is coming up shortly. All those bits of wood and rusty screws that I kept "just in case" are off to the tip along with solid bristle paint brushes that I didn't clean quite as well as I should have.

Thanks for your pictures of your visit to JCB.  I was especially taken with the ones of the Bamford trailer.  Did Britain’s model their early #9550 trailer on it?  Is there anywhere I could get dimensions of it as I would like to attempt a model of it?

While out and about i got offered a good price for my JCB 530-70 was not planning on selling it allow i have had a few niggle problems of late which i fixed but also got shown a photo of a 541-70 ,did not have time to go and look so took a gamble and bought it then sold mine , it turned up the other day and so far its going well , its quick on the road and air-con is good so we can keep door closed and keep the dust out

hows the new toys doing then smithy?? combine easier to use? is the wife keeping up with you dragging her new trailer 😀

So far its going good ,yes lot easier to drive and adjust from the seat ,not as yet mastered the stubble height setting in auto but i will next time ,yes she was keeping up carting the barley ,allow on the second day of carting i had 2 drivers as a mate asked if he could have ago . Julie struggles to push the grain up with JCB ,she gets there but needs 5 pushes when 2or3 might have done it ,Granddaughter Jasmine can do it and did on some of the barley but she is off on holiday next week so think i might have to give the wife a few more lessons . The 12 ton trailor she said rode well on road but because from seat you cant quite see over the top to reverse into barn which she also needs a bit of practice on ,i get in doorway myself than tip it a bit and look underneath .  Tested wheat today it was 18.2% needs to be 15%

i was always told to tip it a  bit then look under neath, that was for the blower or the auger mind, we used to have a old sleeper in front to stop it ,both trailers had a similar overhang at the rear so it made it a lot eaiser, just center up. sure she will get the hang, every ones rusty at the start of a new season, especially if you only drive for harvest

The 541-70’s are great machines, should do you well. They were even better before the ridiculous cut outs on the lift were fitted.

Thank Gav, i will give you 3 guess as to the salesman that poked,🤔 i mean sold it to me 😂

Been away for a few nights with Gemma up and around Durham, and called in at Beamish for a mooch about on way home and to wander about the tractor assembly they are holding this weekend... A few photos we took afore heading off for a look about the 1950s Farm that hadn't opened last time we visited the museum
