(and he looks nothing like a Strawberry!)

Don't you start as well Stan I have had enough of that nonsense from FNHIR  :D :D ;)

Turbo charge a cab by feeding the driver beans and the extra fart will provide immediate power boost  ;D

John Deere 6900. . . . simply because after much umming and ahing my boss of the time finally areed with me that Powershift transmission would make our (ok, mine!!) life easier. Never bought a hydrostatic combine though. :-/

For those not in the know, what was powershift and why was it better? :)

Gearchange without  manually clutching so higher gears could be used when the machine is underload. e.g. when using heavy draft implements like a plough or subsoiler if you went to change up manually you would stop dead as soon as you hit the clutch due to the massive drag of the implement being in the ground. So with powershift ( just like a car autobox being changed through every gear using the selector rather than the drive setting) you can get into a higher gear as no momemtum is lost, similarly if the going gets even tougher a downshift can also be achieved. with changeing back up when engine revs pick up, all without stopping.

When you take into account all other tractor gearboxes at the time didn't even have synchromesh one often worked in an "average" gear all day to "avoid missing a gear" on trying to change up or down so ground covered was a compromise rather than maximum amount on minimum fuel useage that todays multiple speed powershifts allow.

No one has said the mighty MB-trac  :-\ :-\ :-\

the MB Trac could be there suspension and braking system.                                        one important tractor i think that hasnt been mentioned yet is the Deutz Intrac 1st made in the early 70s many of its features are found on tractors today, front linkage + pto, multi function tractor 3 implement loading areas.
