Deere-est
What an absoloute cracker of a model. The fact it won't lift the stacks is niether here nor there to me really Sean. As a show piece it has it all.

MJB1
what about glueing the bales on the outside of a box sean ? fantastic piece of work gone into that . i have used a tanco, cooks & a browns carrier & all these had the center bar at the back, i have also used a 3pt linkage one as well, good kit but needs a fair weight on the front to stop the tractor from dancing around ! Tractorman810
as far as i can remember marcus the farms didn't have a bar at the back, unless it had come of, ,i know the ones you mean for the rear,i have to make a small set for my 550 at some point like the farm used to have, one on the loader one on the 3 point
IH885XLMAN
instead of doing a square block of bales why not do individual flat 8s so you could stack them better on top of one another i was thinking of moulding 8 accumulated flat 8s for that purpose for a salop straw trailer im thinking of doing
Tractorman810
the prob with moulding / resin is they would be as if not heavier than the origonals, hence the foam idea, nice and light weight, and it does lift the test block fine without any real preassure needed on the sides,
MJB1
can't see how it would possibly work without the center bar really , the downward pressure from the bales above & the pressure from the squeezers , would make the 4 center bales bulge out till they were squeezed out

JC
I'm sure its been said already Sean but that is a fine piece of work there, I wouldn't worry too much about it carrying the load, it is only a model afterall and it's not got this years crop of bales to collect!! If you do want some realism, then why not try glueing enough bales together to fill the bottom layer and fitting some kid of anchor/clip to the back which would clip on to the main frame of the grab section so that layer works like a pallet so to speak, the sides of the frame will hold the bales in position and the bottom layer will support them and hold them in the frame.... does that make sense? MJB1
still recon that by cutting a few bales & gluing to a hollow shell wouldn't look bad
