The-classic-collector
hi bill, ive thought about this for many years, everytime i see a programm like 'how its made' i always think it would be great if they did this at an ertl factory etc. is there any pictures available of the models being produced (even if they are slightly old) or if there isnt just a suggestion you could write a book, or even produce a calendar with a picture of production, and a small picture of the finished product. thanks...................... sven....... the other green
My wife and I took an Ertl factory tour back in the early '90s during the Dyersville summer toy show. At that time Ertl's manufacturing was still in Dyersville Iowa. It was quite interesting, although the model assembly looked like a job that would get VERY monotonous right fast. What impressed me most was the speed with which those folks could fold the 1/16 models in the open front boxes.
Bill Walters
We make our product in China. There has been issues with shooting video in Chinese factories. I could show you pictures of the tooling models, but I doubt you would be impressed. Bill
