CX820Joe
Can anyone explain the codes for tractor tyres - just wondered what this meant: 12,5-18 Was looking at a foreign tractor site with lots of specs on different makes of tractor and combine, though some seem to be older layout as opposed to this sort of thing: 16.9R28 or: 800/65R32 Its all beyond me ??? ??? Deerepower
right Joe speaking as a qualifed tyre fitter 800/65R32 is 800 (mm) is the width across, 65 is the height from rim to top of tyre (the sidewall) 65% of the width across, R is for Radial, 32 is the rim size. If a tyre dont have R on the side then it's a crossply another fact is a truck tyre with 90psi in it has the same force as a hand grenade going off if it explodes

I've seen a truck tyre explode, on the M25. It was in the next lane over, to the right, and in front of us, until the tyre went bang ........... then it was in front of us, doing crazy things!!!!!!!!!!!!!
