not a cheap buy then for what it is really, shame you couldnt have just dug a ground level one out, or wouldn't that be possible there

still would'nt have much change left if we went below ground i,m going to seperate the slurry so i reckoned this was the best solution keeping the new store for the sperated liquid only

thats what we done and put a concrete floor in but the tank is probably handier because the farm quality assured bais (helth and safety) want a concrete wall around it with the barbed wire along the top of the wall  :-\ :-\

looks well anyway stephen ;) ;)

For your next trick you should put in an [url=http://www.farmersjournal.ie/2008/0223/farmmanagement/farmbuildings/index.shtml]anaerobic digester in front of the tank.

- It creates methane gas which you can use to run a generator (Free electricity)

- Kills the weed seeds in the slurry

- Improves the Nitrogen availability of the slurry (by a factor of four if my memory serves me right)

- The slurry don't smell afterwards

- You can take off a very nutrient rich compost material.

how many gallons do you reckon to go through that per hour stephen ?

used to work at one farm that had two dairies , both equiped with separators , the solids would then go to his daughters shed to be dried ,shredded, mixed with irish peat & bagged to sell as compost , within a year she was voted as southwest bussiness woman of the year
