for a long while now i've always used old cassette boxes / Cd cases , the newer cassette boxes are quite soft plastic & is a bit more forgiving than some of the older ones , another material i use is clear lamination sheets , just run a sheet through the laminator & you have a firm clear sheet that can be bent to most angles

Only problem i've just found out itonly works across openings up to 6mm

thats the stuff i think dave purdue tried using on the prototypes for the 390s mate, or very similar stuff, he gave up in the end as he couldnt find any thing that would do the job and fit inside the cab ok, tried a box like dt does replacement wise individual sheets of it, just wouldnt go
