Other projects took over .... still working on them.
-
Sorry Paul. forgot to let you know I eventually have not gone further with modifying this model.
-
I have about 50 Britains sets current, they have seriously increased in value over the years. That might make them more desirable, or not? I don't know ... you could start a collection on its own by gathering all variants in colours, wheels, decals, rare boxes (prototypes).
-
Mint and boxed items usually are worth a lot of money. Gift sets even more, as they come avaliable for sale only once in a while. Also models that have not been presented in the catalogue are scarce and valuable. A few examples of my onw collection :
-
He also sold the same set for a lot less ... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1970-039-S-VERY-RARE-VINTAGE-BRITAINS-FARM-MODEL-SET-EXCELLENT-CONDITION-/275773331381?nma=true&si=10JkKPnqYgVe4IkqZ1CxuSVXpYw%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Indeed, they look shopfresh!
-
I looked back to find where I had heard it, but I know now ... I was also after a current model on Marktplaats and was tipped that a re-issue was announced at the Spielwarenmesse 2023.
-
I also heard Weise will be doing a re-issue on their Fendt Xylon tractor. Anyone got more information?

Good attempt, really recognizable Britains parts all over. You swapped the front axle? -
Nice display!

Universal Hobbies new releases 2022
Hajo replied to Tractorman810's topic in Universal Hobbies Models
Hhhmmmm seen a price on the Vredo VT 1403, that is EUR 149.00 A bit steep, also there are more pictures avaliable, it looks really decent but somebody has put a MASSIVE steering wheel (as in an Imber Ford 40 series), I hope that will only be on the prototype. -
I will certainly buy one, since it is a Britains set and that is the majority of my collection. I have to agree it is not the best looking model, the original MF 6290 was not a beauty but this one looks even more unattractive. But hey, it is a set ....

Those ads are nice items, I also have several of them, framed on the wall.
-
The MF 6290 and cultivator are avaliable. Must be a very wide box with the cultivator placed across instead of in length direction.

Universal Hobbies new releases 2022
Hajo replied to Tractorman810's topic in Universal Hobbies Models
YES!!! The union harvester set is coming and that Vredo looks really nice too, I remember reading an article about it many, may years ago. Not so sure about those Fords, I would have rather like to have seen a 8630 instead of a 8830. -
These orange Valmets were made years ago by Niels Anchelon of AgriMini (I thought his business had this name), I also owned one for at least 2 hours bought and sold at Zwolle that year.

Britains Deutz-Fahr DX4.57 slightly modified
Hajo replied to Hajo's topic in Latest Tractor Conversions & Scratch Builds
Thanks Paul, even though this was not an extremely complicated project, it is still satisfying to see this result. And I am not an expert builder, so for me these smaller projects are ideal! -
Indeed it still is a lot of money ... I think I spent that in a year on models.

Britains Deutz-Fahr DX4.57 slightly modified
Hajo replied to Hajo's topic in Latest Tractor Conversions & Scratch Builds
Thanks Justin! -
Four models Cyril if these are in nice shape they alone will be worth about £1000, and I see £200 in the other remaining models.
-
One of my favorite Britains tractors, a Deutz DX4.57. A donor Britains front axle with mudguards was adapted to fit the tractor, also the wheels were painted silver, the hubs black and a white cab roof. It took a while to get the decals, thanks to the Dutch mail who delivered the envelop from Henri Walker after 10 weeks ... but the end result looks really nice as I say so myself! The only problem is the front wheels can't steer now, as the mudguards are too close to the cab steps.

Hajo replied to Tractorman810's topic in General Hobby Discussion
Usually I will post new models in my own topic but I have not updated that in a while ... but this new addition I wanted to share, a UH Valmet 705 with black cab, limited edition 500 pc's from Miniaturen de Kempen from Bergeijk (NL). -
The Lockdown Challenge - Clear Your Workbench
Hajo replied to SPN's topic in Other Conversions & Scratch Builds
My first intention was to use the grass tyres. I will sort the track width soon and get all other things done, such as the steps and the beacon and aerial. I also noticed the cab has to come off again to get rid of a fingerprint on the inside of the cab glass ... Fortunately the weather forecast says a lot of rain in the coming week, so more time to get this all done. -
As long as Britains makes "limited" runs of the Valtra and perhaps spin offs in other colours, I think they will do fine. For me as a Britains collector I never owned the Valmet 805 series with all colour variations, they are just a bit pricy for me. But getting my hands on a 8950 (that will retail for 30 euro?) in different colours will be much easier. And Valmet/Valtra is the only large tractor manufacturer that offers their real tractors in a wide variety of colours. I like that! We will just wait and see ....
