  1. Lucky the existing fleet wasn't made up of JDs then Thanks for the info, makes much more sense - is this explained with the model?
  2. Thanks , that was my understanding and i've seen the 4020 with HFWD so I assumed AFWD is HFWD. I typed "AFWD + Tractor" into google and all I got was references to the Britains model...so it doesn't seem to common a term at all, I'm puzzled. jdc, I don't understand why FWD would be in that term? \
  3. I think from a future value one, this could be a goodun as it should be in demand from the Fendt and Deutz people. i'm not going to rush though, the Bayern Deutz has made me wary
  4. Why don't they just release a white tractor with a set of paints? or some sort of thermochromic paint so you can just heat it up to get the colour you want I'm waiting for the first see-thru tractor. My money is on it being a Fendt and made by siku
  5. i think there will still be a problem, especially when bespoke parts go bust, its not like you can fabricate a new ECU and it isn't just a case of a general mechanical knowledge - I don't doubt those using them now, but i'm sure that not everyone who collects classic tractors used that exact model back in the day. No doubt you could simplify the tractor a great deal, bypass the technology that is installed for efficiency and to meet emission regulations but it doesn't seem the same as restoring one
  6. They will command more, definitely, but is the demand for McCormicks as much as it is for Ford? I don't know a lot about how the McCormicks of nowadays relate to those past, but the Ford was a linear descendant and therefore has provenance. it also needs to be asked how collectable modern tractors will be, with their electronics, size and possibly reduced nostalgia towards this era of farming
  7. wasn't this meant to have been a fake? so it is real \
  8. Those latest photographs confirm she is the cheffins machine, what a beast indeed, but the amount of horsepower it has is supprising
  9. Well I guess you had better get photographic proof And a video.....with sound
  10. I've given up thinking of any thing that hasn't been done - the only way is to be obscure (or get the models first) and I guess a vineyard wasn't leftfield enough
  11. From that distance it looks new, you must take good care of your kit
  12. Well done, its a modifcation I wish Britains had done I'd maybe use a different type of glue in future, I've found some types stain, others don't get absorbed
  13. Sounds like I'm going to miss the first cut at home then
  14. What is AFWD? Is it assisted front wheel drive? It doesn't seem like too common a term to use, would Hydraulic front wheel assist have been a better term Have I got the wrong end of the stick?
  15. I doubt that transport width would be legal in blighty, probably why we don't do this
  16. Ebay - Newray lorries, right now there is a tanker @ 3.99 with no bids that would be perfect for conversion
  17. Yep, that, the lack of a realistic tread pattern and their width. Someone has gone to a lot of effort its just a shame that the fundamentals are all wrong
  18. Not for me, tracks are just wrong and it sits too high
  19. Its still sat on a shelf at home it isn't too far off, just keep getting distracted
  20. too hard...given up front wheels a pain to hide
