  1. I could try fixing the the axle gear in place so it turns with the wheels tho something seems slightly out of sync as the gears don't always mesh.

    At Work with Big A

I've never seen it wrapped in this way before
  3. I think you may be right: powerfarm update '87 - '91, then non-powerfarm using that mould '92 - '05 (which explains the 1987 date stamped on the gearbox) Making a few enquiries it may just be that I'm unlucky with my purchase, though the old mechanism looks slightly more basic..
  4. Well yes, the Powerfarm edition didn't have the wheels driving the rotor, but there was a non-powerfarm one released about the same time that did.
  5. Hairline crack in my MB trac which I hope to repair with Unibond Extreme. Difficulty lies in applying the glue and not smearing it on the surrounding plastic.
  6. I had a look through the archives and couldn't find a topic on this lovely Britains implement. I've just received the original orange #9575 (1980-) spreader which replaces the one that was broken when I was five (!) Alas, the wheels don't seem to turn the flail mechanism when they rotate. I compared this one to the 1997-1991 re-release and it seems to lack a plastic spring-washer/clip that fits on the outside of the first cog on the axle, to keep the cog rigid. There seems to be no room for a clip to fit so I assume it was a design fault that was changed and perfected, rather than a factory error The seller assures me it was mint -and it certainly looks unused. Has anybody else got this problem with their 1980 Howard?
  7. I've just seen a pile of Siku/Britains spares go for #235. I couldn't believe my eyes
  8. Second that. Chris was telling me that the forestry diorama was only a small section of the original display, which had he set it up would have stretched from one end of the Pavillion to the other! Scratch built log splitter really looked the part too. Boy is that one busy logging operation!
  9. Great use of the little rotary muck spreader, I've seen so many end up like that over the years
  10. I saw a bale prong sitting in one of Brian Norman's trays at Toytrac, but it was snapped up pretty quickly
  11. How about a travelling roadshow, perhaps zig-zagging north to south? Too expensive come to think of it..
  12. So the mower header is removing the leafy part and the cultivator is pulling the roots up to the surface for the harvester?
  13. Forestry Commission plantation south of Machyntlleth. I have some more of their equipment here, what looks like some sort of Ford/yarder conversion: Would love to see it in action on the steep slopes!
  14. Wouldn't a proper ploughmans be more fitting?
  15. Looking at some photos of old Ford 4000s in the UK, they look totally different to the machines they would become, similar in form to the Britains 5000/6600.
  16. Apparently based on the Ford 4000 and others of its era. I think they added 4wd and possibly upped the power. This site has some good info: buthttp://www.tractordata.com/farm-tractors/tractor-brands/county/county-tractors.html
  17. Lovely little MF 135 sitting all alone in a farm yard in Horsely.
  18. Add me to that extant Country-Born Britains-Raised Disappointed list On the pages of the catalogue the Ford 5000 looked the part for me, but up close and compared to the original, it seems a step backward.
  19. I actually had Kent and the Weald in mind, but seeing your location, it starts to make sense
  20. Is this the tractor the DX 6.50 is (loosely) based on?
  21. So land with thin soil or poor drainage right, or excessively dry regions like the south-east?
