  1. Believe me, me and some others have noticed. We have pretty much told ourselves that we weren't gonna pay them any compliments anymore. You can compliment them till you are blue in the face but they couldn't give a crap bout what you post. But like I said, the 16th scale forum has become more like this place, thanks to "Crazy Rob" bringin everyone together, I mean look at me, he even encouraged me to get my own 16th scale collection goin.
  2. I really don't think that is true. I find the 16th scale forum is a lot like this message board. I know they very much appreciate your pictures.
  3. Hey Beetie, why wouldn't you want all of us to know?
  4. Made a few upgrades since I moved. Take a look, whatcha think? Hinton Farms Well the rice has started to sprout a head and is turning yellow. By the end of the month it will be ready to cut. After all the soybeans were planted we put the cultivator and bedleveler in the shed until next spring. We brought the combine and hooked it up to the draper header to make sure everything was working on it. The stx and 9220 were hooked to the carts to make sure they are in working order. We found another buffalo at auction that was bigger and in better shape then our old one so we bought it. We sent the 9270 to go get it. ***I would like to thank Brad McPherson for the great combine and buffalo. Very great customs and great service, Thanks Brad!
  5. Thought I would post this, its my most recent journal and my last for a while. Everything is now packed up as I am moving to a new house at the beginning of June, and don't even know If I'll be able to set it all back up. Enjoy. Hinton Farms We had disked up the field next to the shop back in January, so we just had UAP run over it with some Roundup. Once all the grass was dead we just ran the cultivator over it. It had to pass b/t the levees however because they were still a little steep. Next the 9270 passed with the bedleveler and the 4755 with the planter with the soys. We are running both the six row and the 30' drill this year again. The 9220 with the cultivator moved on to the fields we've already disked up, while the stx went and started plowing the fields we hadn't touched yet. The bedleveler soon followed with the two planters behind. We are hoping to have a good bit in before the rain this weekend. Mike Lafler Farms Mike only has three fields of Soys to plant so he will be finished by this weekend if all goes well. He's running the Versatile on the Wilrich cultivator, and the Magnum on the cultipacker and planter combo. The cultivator runs around the field and the planter does the same instead of running back and forth. John Lafler Farms John did a test on his wheat and it tested perfect for cutting. He got his 7720 combine and 1660 in the field as soon as he could get them started. He's working fast because these fields need to hurry up and be planted with cotton. He hired Solieau's hay service to bail the straw left behind so there is less trash to try and plow under. His magnum starts running the disk while the 4440 is running a small chisel plow. The 4755 finishes off with the hippers. He's hoping to resume planting next week. Thanks for looking. Questions/Comments Welcome
  6. I saw a Case Ih Dry Box spreader today that I didn't even know existed. It had fat tires like the terra gator and the front looked like an Stx.

    Hear it roar!!!!

Id love to put that in the water ha ha!. Hate to see that beast comming up the road at me.
  8. Oh yeah when we finish waterleveling. Can't leave them muddy like that.
  9. Quite a shreding opperation you've got. Most places around here have just one on a tractor. I couldn't keep track of three while trying to drive. I can barely keep my eyes on one implement ha ha!.
  10. Hey guys, just popping in to say hello and show you some pics that I've been catching. Learned a good lesson, never go to school without my camera. This one you gotta look in the background, the muddy 9270 with the chisel plow, been plowing in the water. Heres another of the 9270 parked in the shed hooked to the grain cart. They use this setup to load the crop duster when they plant the rice. Another of the 9270 hooked to the big green disk. The muddy Stx Heres a 9130 with a jd cultivator. Sorry the pics were taken at sunrise. Mx 185 with a small jd disk, getting some fields ready to dry plant some rice.

    A few red ones!

Oh now when you said red I was kinda hoping for something else
  12. Nice pics. Looks a bit soggy there. Already dry over here.
  13. He can blame that on Katrina ha ha! . Nice to see these pics again.
  14. The barrels are used to hold chemicals and fertilizer. Lots of row crop farmers have them around here, especially the cotton farmers.
  15. I saw a cih 8950 magnum disking up a muddy future rice field. Oh i wish I had my camera, such a good shot that I missed.
  16. Here are some scratch built waterlevelers. These were meant to display the smaller ones and will be on the smaller Lafler rice farm. I painted them red, however they are not caseih made. I don't know of anyone who makes them other than the farmers and welding shops around here. The wheels also raise and lower. Heres three soundguards I've been working on. I added new front tires to the 4455. This one will be replacing the 6920 on my Lafler rice farm, I want this to be a farm with mostly older equipment. I added saddle tanks to my 4440, this will be on the cotton display this year. I changed the tires on my cotton farm's 4755 and fixed the saddle tanks to look a little better. The tanks are also removable on both tractors.
  17. We had the disk for about 10 years before that. Then as the tractor power was upgraded we upgraded to the 33ft disks. It sat in the shed for about another 10 years, this year when we needed three wing disks to roll, we pulled it out of retirement. I know this sounds like a lot of story just for a toy farm, but it is directly based on my cousin's farm
  18. Hinton Farms Things have started to warm up a little and dry out. Not completely dry because the water is still sitting in the fields, but it is not really high enough for us to waterlevel effectivley, and we don't want to use the well fuel just yet by turning them on. We were not able to finish the second field because of this so all of the equipment was brought back to the shop to be worked on. We unhooked the chisel from the 9270 and hooked the small disk back to it to do some more repairs. This disk has been out of service for about 10 years so we want to make sure everything works before we put it back to full time work. The waterlevelers were gone over to make sure they were all working properly. The wing on the waterleveler on the stx has been acting up. We leave it folded and come back in a few hours and its unfolded again so we are working on that. Earlier this week we got some rain. Still not as much as we really needed to effectively work, but it got us back in the fields. We tried to pass the waterleveler with the stx in the high cut in the field we didn't finish but it was too shallow. The 9220 slows down to cross the levee, so as not to break anything. The stx and 9220 follow each other in the lower cuts of the field. We use the 4755 and the angle blade to remove the mud from in front of the drainage pipes in the levees. After we quit in the field for the day, we went back to the shop and hooked the chisel plow back on the 9270. We can chisel wether it is wet or dry but it needs some maintanence first. Mike Lafler Farms Mike stopped waterleveling after the first field. The second field (the one he buffaloed last journal) ended up drying up before he could waterlevel it. He decided to make drainage ditches and disk it up before the next rain. He too doesn't want to use any well fuel this early. As always Questions/Comments are Welcome Thanks for looking
  19. Now you guys know how I feel when a hurricane is comming ;D
  20. We wanted to disk up the field next to the farm. We had disked it the day before Hurricane Rita, but it was looking real nasty since then. Since we had a good dry spell in January we decided to disk it with the 9270 and a small disk that we pulled out of retirement as a spare. When the rain started we decided to just repair the disks and get all three ready in case we got another dry spell. Unfortunatly we didn't get it. With about 1-3 in of rain comming in each week we are taking advantage and started waterleveling. The stx started out with the buffalo and chisel combo in the old top-crop rice field we left ruts in. We were able to disk up this field in January before the rain started. The 9220 is working the waterleveler behind the buffalo. So far you've seen me use this on dry ground but this is what it is really meant to do. Working in flooded fields are our specialty. Here it is following the buffalo/chisel. We hooked the chisel to the 9270 to rip up the old bean fields in the water. This combo got started while the stx and the 9220 were in the other field. The 4755 with the blade was in the field too reinforcing weak levees. The waterlevelers on the stx and the 9220 arrive 3 days after the 9270 finished this field.
  21. I had a feeling he would say something like that. I for one realize where you are comming from with this and also implements in general. When you think about it implements are too generalized to specific areas to please everyone. Keep up the great work Bill.
  22. Those look awesome. Great job on them.
  23. Sure heres more pics. The first is of the Case ih 9270 that is "in the shop". I really sent it off to someone to get some customising work done on it. Jd with the big red disk. Stx with the levee plow Making levees. Getting the ground ready for the shed i just built.
