i know this is going to sound wrong from the start but ......................... why were you grinding your crotch with a 9inch grinder gav?
  2. well stan seeing as we never saw the 79 in action i can only assume it would have gone something like this :of :of :of :of :of :of :of :of :of :of :of
  3. got a volvo engine & auto box & got to be better than the put together before you can sleep bunk & scania's autonotquiteasstillgotaclutchlikeamanualbutnotamanualsomewhereinbetween gearbox mate
  4. yeah car share with mad , not so bad now as she works from home now i finished the salon, but it's only lazyness on my part that stops me from taking the bike to work . i'll have the loan of mads mum car if i want it , but i think i'll start biking it , night out & maybe the car if i want stuff taken to or from the lorry. ah Tris i don't think i'll be getting a scania now , a renault premium may be on the cards , i personally would like to try an MAN TGS XL betty ? gone ? dear dear betty ...................... don't think i havent thought of that mate if it had the lights working i'd probably use it , but it may be a bit noisy for the neighbours at 0430
  5. the realisation i no longer have a car bearing in mind it's a 1999 ford escort 1800TD rust in the usual places spent £400 on MOT sept 2009 with a view to selling it , but i then had a car with 12 MOT for £400 , i couldn't buy a car with £400 & 12 mot , so i kept it JAN 2010 the cam belt decided to leave it's employment so £600 was spent on an engine rebuild , as couldn't afford another car, woohoo a new engine & 8 months MOT SEPT 2010 MOT more welding etc = £450 aaaarrrrgggghhh ah well time to sell it on ebay for sale, a few time wasters then Mad's car goes wrong in OCT, my brakes start making noises, ok time to change the rear shoes , then my windscreen has a major crack so off to autoglass , where they remove the old windscreen taking half the metal frame with it autoglass refuse to just put a new screen in , cant blame them really as only 2 thirds of it has anything to secure the glue to sod it ,i absolutely refuse to spend any more on a car that's only really worth £500 & have been paying my MOT off in instalments so have decided to give the man at the garage the car to write off my outstanding debt

does you beloved claas not get a look in now gav ? or is that a second to the NH as well ? seen to be selling quite well in south wales , one farmer has just bought three tractors & a scorpion loader on the strength of product reliability & the dealer
  7. not sure it looks like it should be , it looks to be an early one though , swept axle & it has the cast aluminium 135 medallionsso early - mid 60's ?
  8. now i had the pleasure to work a B & C reg (1983 / 84) 600 series tractors a 675 4wd & 698 2wd & got to say that although they were a much improved working environment over the 500's they wern't what you might call ergonomicaly friendly for the driver , it was very much a sit up & beg to drive these tractors all day, but we then had 698T & 699 & the upgrdae to the cab was a noticeable difference , the adjustable steering wheel for one would have been enough , but also the slightly reduced depth of the heater & radio cowling with better entry & exit headroom & as mentioned before a besude the seat hand brake made it a lovely tractor to drive, at one farm we had a 698T & a 3080 & sometimes it hard to choose which one i'd rather drive wish someone like |IMBER would bring out a complete range of 600 series masseys
  9. ah in that case i can't see the point of this topic ? but then it has created a decent disscussion , one we've had before & no doubt we'll have again
  10. ah well all requests have fallen on deaf ears again , still no range of potato equipment , & i too also thought a plough was to be released this year ?
  11. well he's only a short farmer ;D think he may have some access issues with some of the older stone/brick built buildings
  12. i think weighers on the trailer & tractor & loader would be a good move for you mark , it wouldn't be that hard to get them fitted to a trailer same princable as a diet feeder
  13. ;D nicely done pat sort of killed the moment somewhat though looks good paul , i know a fair few farms who are potatoes & corn & break the rotation by drilling & selling maize crops, thay havent had livestock for years , cant say it's destroyed the reality , but would say it helps improve their bank balance during a quiet time of the year
  14. seconded jez couldn't agree more
  15. the trouble with UH is that their production model very much depends on the actual tractor they originaly look at . remember the fiasco created when they released the 135 ? wrong wheels, wrong mudguards , etc, etc if the real 3080 was fitted with these wheels from new in france then thats what you're going to get on your model oh & stop whinging , be thankfull some one out there is catering to build the models that had been overlooked by the other bigger builders you would have expected them to come from in the first place if yer not happy change it , if you don't like it don't buy it , not rocket science is it

nice updates gav , on a good day how many acres will that harvester clear then ?
  17. can never understand this attitude to machines whats so important you spend £1000's of pounds on a machine & then decide to repowewr it to ti's desighn limits or to mess with things to make you go faster than it should ? 9 times out of 10, it ends in mechanical failure & a void warranty or at worst sombody will get hurt or even killed by the now largly incompetent drivers of these vehicles. sorry but the more i read some of the posts here i'd be all for a proper test for tractor drivers whose tractor trailer combination excedes a gross train weight of 10 tonnes . bottom line is why by someting thats not up to the job you need it for in the first place ?
  18. thanks bill the DB is a little gem , & the deutz is quite a find in that condition & still only one owner from new , he also has a deutz 6.30 4wd from new in the same condition always a crowd pleaser on the forum , the ford 7810 & a little 135 on estate maintainance duties
