  1. very rare to find a cow or sheep that doesn't like fodder beet go mad for it , even funnier to see cattle get to a sugar beet clamp & gorge themselves , very funny trying to round up drunk heifers :D
  2. wouldn't touch it mart , the 60/70 wernt all that with it i'm afraid , the 3065's were better & much improved but too small for what you want really , but they do have this http://pykett-tractors.co.uk/picts/pro_b_1_396.jpg would be a better proposition for what you want in terms of useability for contract work , hours are on the high side , but it looks well looked after , all things considered . it doesn't really matter what make you buy when yer on a budget, anything could go wrong with tractors that old . an MF 3125 ,ford 8210 ,case ih 956,jd 3050/3350 are the tractors i'd look out for if i were to start up again
  3. spot on tris , bet yer fingers are numb as well now , but i reckon it's 2 hrs well spent
  4. i gave this idea a thought back in 200 , when i mentioned it to my mate he thought i was daft , took a bit of working out , , biggest problem is time after all with a jag 900 throwing it into trailers , you're going to have a back log of trailers queing up \
  5. i thought the 'S' stood for sport so does that mean there won't be a GL version released ? \
  6. nigel the model does incorperate the 'supersteer' axle & weights, quite clever really, but the models steering lock isn't that super
  7. overall score 16/30 this model would be much improved if it was fitted with a siku hitch
  8. oh deere \ bought the NHT8040 at toytrac overall a good show peice , but really no more than that . Remember when you had a britains tractor as a kid ? built to be played with & even when all the body pannels were broken to peices , it could still be good for a few more years ,as long as the wheels & linkage worked . steering is slightly better than the TSa,& certainly not as fragile ,will endure many hours of carpetfarming as long as it's not pushed down upon. super steer may be applicable to the real thing but doesn't apply to to the model 6/10 detail is good in all areas, except the backend behind the cab , bit more detail in the moulding process wouldn't go amiss but very rarely are these models displayed with a rear view 8/10 the siku ploughs are very light in weight ,so my & 7f rev was hooked up to it, with poor results , so was exchanged for the standard 5f rev ,that was also a non starter , the 4frev was tried , & it just about held it in the up position until the tractor was moved .2/10 my MF362 wil hold the 7f rev in the up position if you weighted the front down ! the front of the box should read for display purposes only ,but only displays a 'not suitable for under 3yrs' icon, my boys are 7 & 9 but as a toy to be played with it probably would't last 3 months.
  9. sounda all well & good mart , nice variety of jobs to keep busy with , got to get a hose pipe & some t-cut going to get the 1080 sparkling !
  10. try putting a whole apple in your mouth & try eating it !
  11. got to get one of pauls jf foragers behind that beastie mate :)
  12. very much enjoying the pics cj look very very good :)
  13. nice one steve , but 1948 ? i've a 2006 MF1505 & that hasn't got britains compatable linkage either :D :D what goes around comes around
  14. i think the 31 series were a fair bit bigger mike , matter of fact i recon the 3000 series cab convo for the 26 would be right for the 31's seans got the 36's off to a T with the UH wheels
  15. really ? i thought it was well layed out ,else as by the time things have happened to the people involved it'd been months past by the time it gets to print . maybe CT could do an 'IDIOTS GUIDE TO'...............& let the ftf members do the testing & write up , lets face it there's enough of us here :D :D good read this month rory , well done CT team
  16. question for rory , what happened to bev the jd that was stripped & rebuilt ? the last i read ,i think it was complete & heading for a respray . but not seen since ?
  17. no kidd used whatever shade of blue was available at the right price at any given time , the same as running gear , farm er down the road has two identicle toppers , but the belts from one don't fit the other , very much depended on what belts were available at the right price , the machines were good tools , but maintainance could be a bit hit & miss \ i bought a kidd side slinger from shaftsbury showgroung back in 1988 for ?450 , replaced the wheel bearings & bolted the chains , it was almost the ford tractor blue & had a yellow lid , the blue you have used on your model is from the earlier years , dillington estate used to run 3 rear discahrge 4ton spreaders back in the 70's early 80's & they were the colours you have used , good machines but very prone to rust
  18. well sean there's yer first couple of orders :) scan them in valtra130 & post the pics up mate , finding it hard to find them round our way now how long ago did they stop building trailers then ?
  19. outstanding mate , took some wel spent hours on that & to good effect. go lean a few tractor tyres against the outside wall or even get a tractor in there on axle stands , give the chap in the workshop something to do !
  20. hey look tris the man drives something classy , unlike you who has to slum it everyday :D we don't have double drives that lift either finn not so much issues with drive shaft connection ,but weight issues, unless it's a rigid where double drives are fitted for tipper work , traction units are usually only fitted if they're required for specialist applications like heavy haulage or forrestry haulage , other than that it's predominantly 4x2 or 6x2. i drive a mercedes axor 4x2, tris has a scania topline 6x2 & pdc drives a scania streamline 6x4 theres pics of them all here somewhere there you go sparrowlegs , get a hiab on a trailer & get some tree trunks !
  21. it would if one of the axles lifted finn. if it's a true double drive a farm yard would be thlast place i'd want to take it , like all double drives , crap trying to turn on greasy surfaces , but will go anywhere in a straight line :D :D i'm liking that a lot mike , what happened to the merc cab ?
  22. nicely done tris , :) :) the kidd spreaders i've used had a yellow top lid
  23. has anyone got pics of a teagle titan or the later titan super7 as it doesnt look like teagle build trailers anymore dimentions would be good if possible as well please seems a bit silly that we want the 6600's , 590's back but yet these were big trailers in their day & was well matched to these size tractors
