  1. well i have to say who ever gets the 390,398 or 399 , they'm going to be very lucky people
  2. well looks like there's yer next business opertunity mark , you now have to get some moulds & recycle the plastic yerself ! i'm sure B&Q wont mind selling plastic patio sets made from silage sheet & fertiliser bags !. not as daft as you might think often thought about it meself \ other option is to get some smaller casts & melt the plastic down to build some of the modelers machinery ,i'm sure gav & dan would love to see his harvesters & trailers cast in recycled plastic instead of resin got another one ....... get a mould from the old 100style MF weights & cast some to sell in CT
  3. i thought a 240 type tractor was still available from MF although only the number is on the silver decal, built under license in turkey ?
  4. lovely little tractor really mark , new boots will make it look bigger as well , i take it she'll not be carting the baler about then
  5. i'm so looking forward to next years haymaking
  6. lets put this into perspective for you mark the tractor below has spent all it's life on the same farm , all original , even the clading in the cab is mint 9800hours few years back he it & was offered a price of approx £6000 farmer considered sprucing it up to get a bit more cash for it & was offered approx £4500 sometimes less is more
  7. well john you could always get TT to paint it bright colours & display it on her garden other than that me & marky will be fighting over the discs , but a good plough for mark to have
  8. whoa there chap , the rust you have there i would imagine is next to nothing , if you went all out on a full refurb or even just a respray , you'd be taking the originality away from it , & if thats the case you'd have been just as well to have bought a 2008 model & stuck that spare badge on it really mate all it needs is an afternoon of T-cut & a good polish really cant beleive you'd actually contemplated tampering with something as good & fresh as what you have , if it was beat about & spent a lifetime on a yard scrapper then i could understand the decision got me really upset now :'( :'(
  9. the V5 bit i expect john after all she cant follow him round squeezing his knackers with those fencing pliers all the time can she :D nice little tractor mark looks very up together mate , dont really think sehe needs any rubdown or respray , all looks genuine & original.
  10. oh ......... um...er............ still got it then considering the depth of how the ploughings finished up maybe potatoes could be an option john
  11. ooohhh chunky if you find some at a really good price mate let me know
  12. same as me mate used to plough 1500 acres a year in me heyday but i dont think i've ever had ploughing look that good \ only one tip , leave a larger headland to turn in

    Ford 8100

which brings me magicaly off topic & has nothing to do with the 8100 BUT is the difference between the 7600 & 7600E but thats another topic altogether

    Ford 8100

before we confuse each other mate , none of these tractors had chassis, they were backend bolted to engine bolted to tombstone so are you saying the 81 had a 67 backend & the 82 had a 77 back end ? not that i knew there was a difference !

    Ford 8100

really mark ? learn something new every day as far as i was aware the ford 8200 was sold alongside the 81 . Customers wanted a big 2wd 6cyl tractor but ford were not really sure it would be a seller in their line up so they approached County to build the 8100. But i've seen a few 2wd 82's about as well but not seen any litterature about them , so can only presume that they were once 4wd converted , or ford saw the sales figures & offered it in 2wd as well & stopped the production of the 81 the 81 also had strengthening rails from the tombstone, along the engine to the backend effectively giving it a chassis of sorts ironic really that the 2wd Ford people had County, the 4wd people, to produce a 2wd tractor for them while ford started selling their own 4wd tractors i think the ford COUNTY 8100 will be the next 'big thing' for collectors
  17. what about the mesh grill/vent on the top of the bonnet?
  18. quality conversion dan thanks for the step by step pics as well chap , it makes it easier for us mere mortals to have a crack at it
  19. i wonder what the working life of these trailed harvesters are compared to the conventional self propelled ones ?
  20. looking great Ian, small modifications can dramatically change the look of a machine & i got to say it's dramatic stuff ! will you be adding the optional oil reservoir at the back of the cab ?
  21. i still have my 77/78 combine & that has the silver end caps on the wheels . nearest one in pics ,obviously not in mint original condition anymore no cab lights ,few go faster stripes, wider front tyres & a multi-trac CD changer
  22. last pics on sept 21 ? any news thomas , not like you to hold things back from us mate
  23. i too had a re-decaled 590 on the ftf display & was asked more than once if it was genuine , what was to stop me saying yes ? i could easily swap the bonnets to have fitted one with a rounded diecast linkage in my eyes the availability of repro decals have made 590's worthless, as there's no real way to identify one , would i buy one ? no not when you can build yer own
  24. ok so the 590 issue has been thrashed to death i think , if the 590 decaled tractors are such a grey area , with the advent of getting decals from say , henri walker who does some very authentic ones . box or no box does this mean that because repro decals are used it makes the genuine britains 590 as good as worthless ?
