Thanks, Tim. Yes down in the villages it is not too bad as the ground undulates a little bit but along the foot of the Plain is a bit of a wind trap for most. Certainly where I live in Westbury it is sheltered as the winds and rain tend to go up onto the Plain between here and Warminster to out south but alng towards the Lavingtons where I grew up and lived until recently the winds and rain blow back down off of the Plain. Further on again towards Eastcott and the little pump house is a kind of plateau that leads up into the Pewsey Vale, that's open country along there. 'Boys ground'.

Well everyday is a school day!!! Yes we do, every now and then. Been there four times now I think to pick up various tractors and machinery. Bit tight going out past the church mind and then I turn around right out past Stags place under the trees where some silage bales are stored and load facing back into the village. Tight on the bridge too mind!! We took both lorries in a while back... My load. Following the rigid out. Sorry, bit OT!!

Oh and some photos from yesterday out and about delivering logs. Kennet and Avon canal at Honeystreet. Icicles on thatched roofs near Alton Priors. Easterton high street, looking towards The Royal Oak. Looking up towards Salisbury Plain from Eastcott. Old pump house, centre. Cherill Monument from the A4, Labour-in-Vain Hill.

Yes!! Where is your yard then?
-
I know that Hemyock road well, Mark. I go through there a lot to pick up tractors from an auctioneer who stores them until he has a lorry load for us.
-
We're on amber warning here, Mark. I was due to head to Wales with hay tomorrow. Lorry is loaded and ready but doubtful whether I will be going now looking at the various weather websites and the forecasts. 3am rise and shine still but a look out the window will either seal my fate or I will return to bed!!

That's the trouble this year, the thought of all that snow melting and adding to the water we have had all year is a worry for anyone with livestock or planned spring cropping
-
What would you rather, John? For me it's snow every time, or at least the cold anyway. If you get cold, you can soon work a bit harder to get warm but getting wet is horrible when you're out all day.

She didn't mention an accident, just due to ice on the hill going up to the roundabout so say.
-
A38 shut other side of the Tamar Sean. Ice on the hi according to our Lynn on Radio 2. We had another dusting last night, nothing worth getting excited about but heavier snow is expected later today in a mix of sleet and rain.

Big Like!! Looking forward to seeing the TR as well, quality machine!

Blimey, that's bang on!! I have picked up a dozen or so of these from farms on the crane lorry to eventually go to warmer climates so am fairly familiar with the MF30, you ain't half nailed it!!

Oh and the new van! And the drive in, a usual 20 - 25mins took me an hour on Friday!
-
The view down across the valley towards Keevil Airfield. The lane away from the yard. Down the hill. Looking back towards the yard.

Well this is the sight that greeted us, Friday morning work up at the log yard. Plenty of people moaning about it but we still got out there and got the loads delivered. Been a good year for it in comparison to the mild winter of last.

2nd conversion 8 wheeled tipper
Deere-est replied to Jordan_coe2012's topic in Other Conversions & Scratch Builds
You have done a lovely lovely job of that. It really does show what Britains missed out on twenty years ago. I wish some more 32nd scale trucks were about. Have you managed to drop a dress size yet?! -
LAMMA 2013 - A Pictorial Review
Deere-est replied to The Tractor Twitcher's topic in Events and Shows
Poor Andy looks frozen!! I do like the Claas in white, looks like a nice combination to me. Lose the green I say!! Also like the Deutz stand too, their tractors have always appealed to me and the striking looks and lines they have I think are very cool, even without the weather of the day!! Must say, doesn't the Bateman look dated now compared to all these big wheeled European sprayers on the market now. On that note, the one with the height adjustable cab, why? Just for access and servicing or what? Seems an extravagant piece of work. Interesting also to see that big Abbey tanker and the recently discussed tri-axle Stewart trailer sporting the spoon hitch and also these big silage trailers which do not have a swivelling hitch.... I would have thought they would all have these nowadays to be honest. Good to see the Massey combine sporting the draper header too, good old Powerflow must still be up there among the best headers on the market worldwide. Lovely photos, David. Thanks for the time you took at the show and here on FTF putting them up. It didn;t look terribly busy, David? Good timing with the photos inbetween crowds or was it fairly quiet? -

Oh how the Massey fans will love a red Deere!! Nice looking old girl though, Mike. Even in the 'wrong' colour it is obvious it has been done up well. Your chaps must be busy?!
