-
pm'd you
-
have no pics im afraid, but i can tell you its solid made out of plywood, i think theres two metal bars running vertically down it to give it strength
-
great minds think alike, why do you think the pic was posted and my plan is to get your trailed forager harvester to go filling this baby
-
;D if the whole tyre was flat it wouldnt bother the same guy, for the guy with the oldest fleet in our area he cuts all the best jobs and picks up more acres then anyone else. nothing ever leaves the yard and works till it dies, up to last year he even had two muir hills still working away and could have up to 13 tractors drawing

picture taken of one of the rivals contractors tractors, he has a nice set up with all sorts of waterford lee trailers double and single axel
-
as far as i ca remember theres a whole article in classis tractor magazine about two years ago about those blue McCormicks used on the power line, they bought something like 12 bran news ones in one go

FOR TRACTORMAN810 TRELLBORG WHEELS ON MARSTON TRAILER
civilpek replied to PDC's topic in Other Conversions & Scratch Builds
those wheels are a way better in opinion -
that 7810 is looking immaculate, going by that pic alone id nearly go for it for the sake of the extra 3000
-
try smyth trailers, dont have any experience of them personally but as far as i know they had a silage/cattle trailer as well
-
well a nice 110-90 sounds just up your street, their great yokes to pull i know of a 90-90 that pulls a 12 tonne track machine up a severe severe hill that has a constant slope all the way to the top which is about half a mile she throws out black smoke like as it a struggle but she makes it every time 7810 can be light enough for drawing silage especially if theres a slope in the field shell start to spin and changing the gears can be challenging if you hit a soft spot but their great to drive cos it brings out the good drivers id stay away from the case, their gear boxes are crap and their cabs arent that nice either visibility wouldnt be the best
-
i know you said the cab on the masseys is small, but the 399 is a marvelous tractor though or if interested a 398, my uncle picked one up about 3 years ago for ?14000 and ud sware she came out of the factory, a bit light though but would make a great yard tractor
-
ya its true they are dear, my boss has one a 90 reg generation 3, and you know shes virtually perfect, any trouble she has ever given has been only minor so you know your paying for what you get i guess. what jobs will you be using her for, there not the best for loader work i reckon as the gearing is awkard to match reverse speed with forward, it involves a fair bit of changing compared to the old ford gear box
-
7810 generation 3 are a lovely tractor away ahead of their time to drive but the 110-90 is an inimal to pull, my advice is stay away from the case i know of a 1056 xl that giving trouble after trouble

i have to say Tris that he is sound out in fairness, he gets excited now and then from time to time but all in all hes sound out, a great man for telling stories about the olden days when things were "good" haha and hes the fairest guy i know to pay, he even paid me ?800 last year when i was gone away for two weeks holidays to Majorca and im not full time like, as well as that he brings ice cream to the field now and then the only problem with him is it takes ages to build up trust with him especially if your a new guy. generally if you arrive on his fleet and the first job your given is carting silage well thats more or less what youll be doing for the rest of your days there with dump trailers or something in the winter luckyily for me i came working for him from another contractor so i had a fair ol bit of experience compared to a lot of guys so i was given a bit more leway from the start, and the only thing i havent driven is the harvester which i prob wont ever get to drive for him id say cos thats like his baby
