Seems spuds are a nightmare, so I don't envy you with sugar beet to follow although you do seem to be on reasonably light land. Up here, the local teams are averaging 3 acres/day per SP machine. They've now resorted to using tracked machines to haul to gate and normal tractor to haul on road - the trailer is more like a sledge in the field.
I've been meaning to build one of these for a while and started on this week. If I were doing it again I'd do it differently!
The real one.
Body & chassis started.
Not being smart, but had some close calls with getting stuck, but never actually needed the chain! Broke a chopper belt and had to swath for two days - got quite a few extra bales
Cracked the main plough beam bouncing over ruts.
At least he has his own personal chain
At least he's carrying his own chain with him! Potato boys up here aren't even moving on the light land. Heard the big SP lifter got stuck.
Nice job on the booms, boss. Is the centre section OK?
From memory, 4wd splined shaft on front axle prone to wear and can be heard rattling. Autotronic 'box' under offside floor can suffer from corrosion, worth a look. Crosshead on lift arms can get loose and upset position sensor. If gearbox is OK not a lot else although at 10000 hrs there's bound to be other wear & tear.
Very nice model, Spud and good info on the production. I've been humming and hahing about a 3d printer for a while. After seeing this I may take the plunge!
