  1. This is the same guy I've been with all week but I've just been hired out to a potato contractor along with the 7710 he borrowed
  2. No idea on that one, was my first day with them
  3. It was dry till about 2pm then the heavens opened but we managed to keep going alright, I ended up taking the MXM halfway across Norfolk just after that to the other de-stoning gang, nice long trip at 50kph
  4. Just a few general pics from today now of the planting and destoning team, MTX 140 and JD 6830 on the Standen planters and Claas Ares's on the de-stoners
  5. My first job was to take a B reg Ford 7710 on a 20 mile trip to where a potato planting gang were working, they needed the tractor for putting on the trailers and elevator for filling the planters. The other tractor being used for that job was a Case MXM175 Pro which I have now taken over for terra discing and now rotor-ridging in front of the de-stoners (pics of that to come tomorrow, weather permitting)
  6. Here's a few from today. Got in this morning and both the Quadtracs were in the yard so here's a few pics of the one on the 6m Simba drill
  7. That was fairly light land I was on today so I was going at 7-8 kph, will probably be going much slower when I get onto some heavier soil. I don't mind power harrowing, I can think of much worse jobs to do than that
  8. Nope, as any good tractor driver will tell you, you have to get out to check the depth of soil regularly when power harrowing
  9. This is what was drilling beet behind me today, an 07 plate Landini Legend 145 which has a 170hp engine fitted on a Stanhay 12 row drill
  10. Thats the smallest tractor on the farm John :D Could have used the Atles or one of the 9380 Quadtracs I guess
  11. Common practice Murray, encourages plenty of growth when you roll a cereal crop like that, also pushes all the stones in Not its standard wheels Blake, before the 836 he had a Renault 710 which is why the wheels are white Odd day here and there mate but could lead to more when he's busy
  12. Once I finished that I had to go and roll a few acres with the same tractor and a 6m set of Dal-bo rolls
  13. First off today I had to power harrow 15 acres of ground in front of the contractors beet drill, Claas 836 and Lely Power Harrow
  14. Had a day back on the oil deliveries then tonight i went o see my mate who I helped cultivating last week and ended up acting as rear escort for one of his 9380 Quadtrac's on a 4.5m Tinemaster....all good fun, certainly made a nice sound going through the hish street of a local town :D
  15. More like you are out on a date with the guy who grabbed your ass in rugby training :D
  16. Been getting on with more Votex toppers then been out with the girlfriend tonight
  17. I think that I'd have got into the truck, started it up and seen how quick he could move, then drive off leaving his stuff scattered down the road as you went
  18. The chap who owned all them spent quite a while chatting to me on Sunday, all of those models are one ofs and he won't build anymore, not because he doesn't want to but because he probably couldn't as they are built out of whatever he can find at the time so the chances of finding the parts again are slim to none which is a great shame as they are some cracking models

    Liquid Fert

We used to buy in a high N value one for spraying onto sugar beet pre emergence where I used to work. It used to go on at 400 litres per hectare and be mixed with the pre em herbicides as well and be applied with a bog standard Berthoud (before that Sands) sprayer. Some of the larger firms due have mixing plants but for the most part its bought in from companies like Omex locally here.
  20. 12 Votex toppers, parts for dutch harrows and a Ford 7710 being restored for someone
  21. Thanks Sean, took the focus off my comment :D
  22. You mean someone trusted you with anything to do with the raffle again...........mind you the barn should be big enough not to lose :D :D
