As if I would do that......

Whilst on the subject of immigrants, whats annoyed me is the fact that all the Portugese that Bernard Matthews have layed off are getting ?19.10 a day in compensation, no doubt they are getting unemployment benefit at the minute as well because of it and yet they are complaining that they are being ill treated and it is not enough to live on. Well in my eyes tough luck, its better than what a lot of people get when they are laid off or made redundant, its still near enough ?100 a week in compensation, they say they will have to go back home to work, well let them, my towns full of his workers, they even have their own cafes where if you go in they fall silent and glare at you > >

Get a small pin punch or similar, put the wheels over something like a partially open vice and give the axle rod a tap with the punch and hammer, retaining ring will part company with it then, same thing applies to front axle

ha ha!! in which case, call me what you want, but which old tractor has the fastest top speed then. Sorry if theis is a very un P.C question but im interested to know aswell!!!!
Russ

Didn't have the camera with me today as I thought i'd just be muck carting then come home, I'll have it with me tomorrow though, should be discing and then ploughing unless the weather forecast is right, should pour down with rain tonight here

Nice work mate and some not half bad kit but i can safly say after spending all morning dung carting as well but on NH TM190 i have not been on a worse haulage tractor the steerings very sensitive with no feel the gearbox is very very picky on what gear you pull off in and is gutless be warned on the 175 :D
But otherwise mate a very very well done on your new job and must say do like the TSA
I bet the TM190 is a supersteer model as the 8870 i used to drive was a bit like that on the steering.
Spent today changing the wheels back to the solid pan ones on the TSA and then muck carting till mid afternoon. I then took over on the Ford 8770 and 6 furrow Kverneland plough, nice to get back to one of my favourite jobs

yer right again ricky , the idea is to put more weight on the tractor for more grip i'd have thought .
hope things will work out here for you gav , a bit more restrained than the contractors workload
Its a lot better than the last lot, turns out I worked with the owners son, who's my age, a few years back when we were both on contract to a potato contractor bed forming and sub soiling

Thanks Gavvy... very similar to my Bailey Trailer... mine is an 8tonner... what size is that mate
I believe its a 12 tonner Marky, I'd rather use the Bunning to that one though, just a much better towing trailer

That TS-A has 7840 wheels on it though most have solid rims
It has indeed, I was talking to the boss about that tonight, he says it did have solid pans/rims on it to start with but they cracked up and shattered around the centres so they went back to these ones at NH's and the dealers expense

Rubber Gloves hopefully

Don't know too much about Nuffields - how much is interchangeable with 4/60 or 10/60? As I have friend who has a piles of spares for those two
The rear end is the same I believe along with steering parts, the only difference is the mudguards are smaller and the engine is a 3 cylinder on the 3/42 (3 cyl/42hp or 4cyl/60hp hence the model numbers on the earlier ones, the 10 standing for gears on the later ones)

Hi guys, havent been on for a while but im back! I have just got myself an 1961 Nuffield 342 in need of restoration and I wondered if any of you knew much worth knowing about these models, plus any pics of restored ones. I will try to post some pictures, but my computer is playing up at the momment. Any replies will be greatly appreciated!
Thankyou,
ruskigman
Nice to hear someone say they have bought a great classic/vintage tractor
I used to have its bigger brother, a 1963 4/60. I do still have a workshop manual and I believe a parts manual for the tractor so may be able to help you out. It was sold when we moved house and had no where to keep it or the 1948 M3 model I also had. Think that I may syill have some gaskets and other bits and pieces to suit about here
What really annoyed you today
