  1. Found photo's of the Denzil Skinner i had a couple of years ago... i might have chance to get it back
  2. Nice buy Justin i'd openly admit i'm not a combine fan but to be fair that does look well with the TW alongside it
  3. last couple of bits unless i find anything else hiding about, not quite 32nd but 43rd, some Dinky Leylands and one of the magazine nuffields with a Corgi service van that was found by @dm434
  4. Converted Britain Cattle wagon to tractor transporter, changed to right hand drive, beaver tailed and extra axle painted in Leyland colours of course
  5. Nice one I think they were originally designed to be given as a promotional item when you bought a tractor as well as being available to buy alongside the Chad Valley range of tractors Alastair, The Skinner ones also were stripable and came with a little open-ended spanner, the engineering in the wheel strakes that they made for them was fantastic like you say considering it was to be played with.... one day i'll get another that will be in better overall condition than the one i had for a weekend, that would have made a nice restored example given time but an original tidy one would be a better bet
  6. They James's off the forum, and agreed they do look a nice trailer
  7. Outside or inside it wouldn't bother me John, be better inside though Would be a nice pair to own really, think from memory Gainsborough only produced 200 of the MP6's which at the time 70hp was a bloody big tractor, then fast forward a few decades and they made just over 100 of the 100 series, most of which were the 100hp model, so in reality they are both a bit of an endangered species....
  8. haha Cheers Alastair though that said, there is a famous plastic Nuffield and (weeks) style trailer by Ralph Lipkin that i haven't yet added to the collection, the Denzil Skinner needs adding too at some point although very briefly i did own one of those in a very sad and playworn state missing various parts and severe damage. The Plastic leylands aren't bad for what they are, yes not a collectors piece as such but being a "leyland" they found a welcome home here
  9. Spotted on my morning windswept walk, looks to still be used occasionally, but reckon it wants a good home
  10. Bet that 8210 sounds well pulling up that field Lee, tidy tractors you have about there
  11. Another tractor that resides locally is an MP6, hence the model one i have, after getting a drive of it at the local steamfair a good few years back, owned by the the bloke who runs vintage section at one of the local Ag shows and is a bit of a collector of the brand with various full sized models in the tractor shed, from a 10/42 through a 285 and up to the 100, although for the last 12 months Anthony been on with restoring the very sorry looking Marshall 100 that had also lived local all its life, that had spent neck end of 10 years sat outside with a flat rear tyre, heard he's making progress and would have been at the show this year had it not been cancelled.... Bit like father and son.... 6 cylinder long stroke leyland power
  12. 10/60 half track, heard tell off Brian at Rjn that one of these does or did live here in the Valley although closer to (JMD than me), alongside a 6 cylinder Perkins powered Roadless E27n, he wasn't sure if it was still in the blokes shed or it had been traded with a lad on the Isle of Man but maybe it'll come to light one of these times, i've asked about abit but folk are a bit in the dark as to what lays in the shed there...
  13. Thought seeing as there isn't the local Steamfair this year that would have been this weekend, i thought i'd get the 4/65 out and bring the doublechop out to get it looked over and greased up and a check of the trailers seeing as nowt much else happening
  14. Think Brian and Will are just waiting on the decal man now John, its certainley been talked over a few times, and one or two would join the collection of 16th's when they get them into a run, there's a few projects that they are on with that will all need a visit to sort the decals
  15. Another tractor in the collection that for the past 7 years that holds a great deal of sentiment is this MK 1 4/65, fitted with a Duncan cab and adorned with a Dumfrieshire "SM" prefix on the reg plate, built by another good man and a great friend that is sadly no longer with us but never forgotten, Kenny Beeton, i first saw this tractor on one of Kenny's displays at the Myrescough shows, and Kenny told me about a tractor similar to this one that was about locally to them where they had the family farm, it wasn't very often you got a serious side to Kenny, he was one of the few that didn't matter what was on his table it was there to make some one smile and if he achieved that he was a happy man. a Keen fergy man at heart , Kenny sent the 4/65 to the Valley for long term storage and light use (as long as it was kept in good order) to join the collection. Maybe this tractor is the reason i bought my full sized 345 as it having the Duncan cab and "SM" reg... who knows And a couple of the man himself and a few snaps of his displays at Myrescough, Hethersgill and The National Horse ploughing at Ellisand farm Dumfries the eagle eyed amongst you will spot the 465 in a couple of the photo's... along with yours truly
  16. It's one that Ken Davis did John, technically its not right as it's a 384 really and should have the later engine and also a synchro gearbox top on it, but as i've found out, one or two that have built up export spec tractors out of hedgerow finds, that there is a top for the synchro box that puts the sticks between the legs rather than either side of the seat, these were used on some of the 3c Jcbs that were fitted with the 3x3 Synchro rather than the 5x2 crash box. There was a 272 export at newby last year with this top to it, i didnt get it at first thinking it was a 10 speed until i learnt of Graham Hill that it was a way round it if you could find the right bits
  17. Weight be one thing true enough Martin, though you could be on to something there John about following better
  18. There's only a handful left now John, it depends on what i was putting them against, if i was comparing numbers to your Autoways or your Fords or Matts Mcormicks, then i haven't that many 32nd Nuffys and Leylands Cheers Martin in a way there a few that i'd like to add but theres also a few 16ths that i wouldnt mind models of but most would have to be one off's.....
  19. different is that Justin, Looks like a rake frame fitted with a pair of mowers.... wonder what the advantage of that is over a pair on the linkage...
  20. Cheers Justin, its an old oil filled Oxford Arc welder, maybe in the way of 180-200A... run it off a 32amp 240v supply off the consumer unit, must be going 40 years old if not older, handy little thing though, will weld all day with a 4mm rod happily away, will outlast a modern day inverter anyday.... to be fair a little mig would be handy moreso for the cab repairs i did on the 7610 but then its extra expense in having a gas bottle or running out mid job of a weekend when everything closed, with the stick plant turned down you can get by with a 1.6mm rod on thin stuff, but can set to with stuff that a little mig would struggle with, the Oxford just bites into it
