  1. They do abit of fabrication work in the workshop, and took on the Pronoar Dealership too, as well as having a hire fleet and do a bit of contracting too... some of the pronar gear seems to be making a bit of an in road now, seen a few bits of kit about supplied by them
  2. Cheers John with hindsight it wants a bit of 3mm steel plate putting between two of the bars to put a couple of Led warning flashers on below the marker plates, not that it won't stand out being yellow but will make it easier to spot, those rear clusters are abit low down and a bit tame really for evening work....
  3. Did you get that Pronar gritter off Orrels at Gisburn Lee? i went there for a job once, he handed me job on a plate but money wasnt good enough
  4. a replica Miak... how long do you think lockdown will last John Building real one would be a challenge but saying that, its only lumps of plate and a couple of rams with a big pin through the middle of it... it would be a numb thing to store and move about though, hardly handy for a roadrun if you got it road reg'd, on saying that, today would have been our small number run up to Vintage metals do.... just as it looks like the weather changed abit....
  5. Is this one of your Sean? was going through an old memory card and found a few photo's from toytrac, from the first year we exhibited there with kidd models and Tris had the table behind us..
  6. Bit of welding work extending a pair of trailer ramps on a mates plant trailer, added 20" in to them to lessen the steep-ness of them, just a pair of tie bars to make and fit once i pick up a length of flat bar then can have a bit of red lead
  7. Back to a bit of Harvest Gold.... this is a rather crude representation of a Marshall by Lone-Star all being said about it being crude the actual cab frame itself is a fairly fine structure in plastic compared to the chunky robustness of the cast cab Ertl designed for the 1690 Brown.... believed to be 3 versions of this, a 2wd, 4wd and 4wd duals which is this version which was found at the back of a shelf in quarter inch of dust at a local-ish modelshop where i normally collect my 16th scale from, they thought the other versions could still be there somewhere as they never remembered selling them at the time.
  8. haha Cheers John, aye i think you'll have seen it, i'm sure its been to Penrith and was due to go to Newby this time.... i doubt any of the original real ones survive, if you look in the back of your Stuart Gibbard's "Doe Story" book theres a page or so on it and also mentions about the the dual David Brown..
  9. As some of you eagle-eyed will have spotted in one of the above collection shots a "Doe" Nuffield... well it is in fact a Miak, Swedish conversion based on a pair of Nuffield 460's, there were at least 3 known to have been built back in the day as the photos that are about of them are of 3 different tractors, Miak also converted a handful of Munktell tractors to tandems, the use of 460's dates the Miak conversion later than Doe's, to around 1961-1964 but puts it against the blue and orange super-major and NP super-major based Does of the time....This model built in a very limited number by Dad's Tractors.... i know one lives not far away over the border in a collection in Yorkshire
  10. Great looking pair there John, although it looks to be a little muddy? that's not like you one bit...you'd normally have the pressure washer out now cleaning her off
  11. Back to the job in hand.... a set of Brian Norman perkins powered Nuffield Universals
  12. just a couple of collective shots... not often they all got out together...
  13. Its surprising what there is Mike, most are just variations on a theme of the basic models of Universal4, 4/60, 10/60, 4/65, and 384's, i know there are a few bespoke models out there that i'd like, BOR did a fantastic 802, and Ian at Tab did a brilliant 282, but it woulds be good to see a good run by someone, to fill in a few gaps..... a few have re-bonneted the UH Cases but its still a Case with the front axle etc and no cast chassis. There will always be a few on the wish list, some 3 cylinders like a 3/42 and 10/42 and 345 be nice as would the perkins powered 253 and its replacements 245 and 502 be good to see in model form, along with the 6 pot 285/2100 and county converted 485/4100's. There have been a few that have been in the collection in the past that got moved on, a couple of the Dave Towse Leylands i had went north over the border to Martin and Ian to there collection, and theres a trio of Marshall's in the 100 series by Dave Towse that went up to Brian Stewart, including a model of the famous JD green Marshall 100 one of the pair of 4wd's lives locally and is snapped here at Great Ecclestone show back in 2009 where i had a few Leylands on display for the 40th anniversary and the Marshalls on display the following year in 2010 where that fateful day when Brian Stewart first met at the JD themed show there. Aye John, some of his models did a bit of mileage, between Clifford to Colin, then Colin to either me or you and Matt, they covered some ground, Andrew got a few of Cliffords builds too, might not have been the most detailed but always looked good and he was always happy to have a good natter, it never bothered him being in a wheelchair either, one of them folk that was just happy to be doing Cheers Smithy theres still a few more to post yet, a few more scaledowns etc... plus another with a bit of special sentimental value
  14. And a trio of Dave Towse 804's, 2 of these belonged to the late Clifford Bateson, another good fella and a great diorama builder
  15. Back to a bit of Harvest gold, Dave Towse 602 and 702 Marshalls
  16. Aye john, its mainly 16th but i've had these a few years just sat away, its more a case i dont buy that much 32nd these days... though would still buy the right ones if they came along
  17. Playing about with a in-operable forward reverse shuttle on a 135-65 Fastrac, after a bit of poking about found a knackerd Prioritised distribution valve, not giving a feed to the shuttle solenoids, rigged up a temparary air supply and had it mobile again, new valave on order so then get it back together when it comes......
  18. That was good of them to bring a 4th roller in tandem for the back of your 83 John
  19. I've a couple more cabbed ones John, though unfortunatley i didnt get all the variants, think the 348 and 344 that i have are the standard versions but were also available with 14x30's on the 384 and 11x32's on the 344, like wise the 255 (11x28's and 11x32's) and 270 (12x36's and 14x30's) in fact i dont owneither of the 255's but have both of the 270's will get photo's Haha Alastair, if you find it.... i dont thint the Scale down built Leylands are bad money although there are only certain versions left now...
