  1. True enough is that John, totally agree with you there, Hope its steady improvement now Sean, be a slow road but fingers crossed all turns out good
  2. Aye she'll be at Penrith don't know what'll be on the trailer but she'll be there
  3. Cheers Martin, aye it's a tidy thing with a bit of weight to it, similar construction to a UH, diecast chunks with a few plastic parts, the outfit is roughly about 34" nose to tail, so would take up a bit of shelf space if left out
  4. Thanks Smithy, i suppose back in the day some of the tractors would have been transported across the trailer rather than lengthways... another bit added on to its length might just help it's overall proportions with another axle under it. think a conversation with Andy needs to be had
  5. Cheers John, Its in a grey box with Road Kings on it, by a company called Speidiel Auto Model i'm guessing from Germany, they also do an early Merc and also a Volvo F series in normal cab and Globetrotter, along with the 141, some are 4x2's others are 6x4's... might have been an early MAN too now i think on about it, Was a few on a stall down at the Llandudno show last weekend, never seen them before but thought i'd have a punt on one, size wise it claims 18th, but scaling back using a rule of thumb of roughly 8ft over the width she sits more closer to 16th scale than 18th so doesn't look too out of place Here's a link to see some of the others... https://dmbmodels.co.uk/heavy-haulage-24-c.asp or https://www.teknomodeltrucks.co.uk/road-kings-
  6. With show season almost upon us, thought it best to see what would fit on the trailer i'd say the 141 is a touch on the small side but never one to leave a bargain i thought it'd be worth a punt on, maybe the Taskers needs to go back to Andy for another axle
  7. That's turned into an expensive weekend there Zac, but you only find faults with using, if it was just sat in the shed all year round you'd have never have known, but like you say go through her now and do a proper job then you'll know you can walk away from her, and she's good for anything then, it's annoying doing a job twice if you didnt go far enough the first time.... i learnt that one by experience good luck with the re-build and repairs bud
  8. Cracking John, your a talented man
  9. A couple more turned up over the weekend, although couldn't get to the Post Office to collect them after i missed the parcel van.... Not brochures but a trio of workshop manuals, An early 1970 Leyland 344/384 which has seen the odd oily hand, a 1965 Nuffield 10/42 and 10/60 that's in very good order and a rarity in the form of a BMC Diesel manual that covers the fuelling and pump timings of all the three, four and six cylinder BMC diesels fitted in the light commercial, heavy commercial and agricultural ranges... useful information to sit down and digest over a couple of coffees and an occasional biscuit
  10. Cheers Martin, wonder if i'll be able to get you to convert to the dark-side and move over to 16th
  11. I find that with the Air fed masks too, they dry my eyes out also, so i don't wear it with the air pack.... but don't do much aluminium work, although a few of the lads who are constant on the weld say they get used to it in time..... i must be fairly lucky (touchwood) in 24 years of being in and around welding i've never had a flash yet, although a few have said that because i have to wear my glasses all the time that it also helps save my eyes. Go steady and hopefully you won't get another
  12. Cheers Smithy well as you know a few of the 32nd models found a new home amongst other collections so the space created can accomodate a couple more 16ths yet before i have to worry too much Thanks Corky the Vee twin front tricycle will be alot more familiar on tractors around you than over here, the full sized examples aren't very common, most got converted back to wide front axle
  13. Another Nuffield 460 added to the collection, one of Brian at RJN's vee twin front wheel trike versions,
  14. And this arrived too, just a pity on the condition of the envelope but never seen these together before, done for the Blue Synchro range of tractors, Leyland used up stocks of the old 10 speed handbooks and printed supplements to go along with to cover the engines and Synchro gearboxes rather than print a whole new handbook, i believe there would have been a card in the envelope for the owner to redeem his first free 50hr service and also a bit of supplying dealer information, a nice find might not be mint but a welcomed addition to the collection
  15. Another envelope's arrived this week, but as you might have guessed a bit more Leyland literature, firstly a range brochure and set of spec sheets for 154,253,344 and 384 i reckon this dates from around 1970 And also another export spec brochure to go with the other export 272 Synchro one that i got the other week, this one for the Perkins engined 245 Synchro
  16. Looks to be a good entry of lots Smithy, did you see anything of a 4/65 Nuffield Bray on your walk about the saleground? thanks for taking the time to grab a few photo's for us to see
  17. Busy times for you then Zach, lift pump and battery are easy, and shouldn't take long to bleed up to the filter, window fitting is just a pain full stop, but i'm wondering if the spark issue in your challenger is down to dampness in the magneto with it being stood over winter....
  18. Fantastic work there John... with all these hand built beauties your building i reckon you should have a table at Penrith and show them off in the flesh
  19. Hope he invites you round for a bit of BBQ then Smithy to try it out, bet you could do with a bit of a feed after laying that concrete at your son's
  20. Don't envy you on that task Brian... Stop the rot campaign.... it's one of them jobs get gets bigger... it only looks a little bit to start with and before you realise your halfway down the floorpan.... get plenty of red lead and waxoyle on it when you've done
  21. A couple more arrived into the collection this week, a 3/45 & 4/65 drivers handbook in fairly good used condition, a 10/42 & 10/60 brochure and a brochure that i didn't know existed but an export spec Leyland 272/472 Synchro, had to have that one to go with the RJN 16th versions in the collection
  22. Time is one thing i'm short of too on the model front too Justin, with work, work on the 802 amongst other things it's time that's in shortest supply...
