  1. No bother ... just true words Definatley John, i can't get my head round those folk who just stay in bed of a morning.... half the day has gone by the time they get up hahaha... at the right time of the day on a morning such as this, if your lucky you can hear one of Cottrells Erf's coming down into town off the A59 just giving it a bit on the exhaust brake.... then as it pulls up the climb over the river heading up to Withgill that 14 litre Cummins..... an Eminox stack gives that exhaust note a great sound
  2. Plenty of fun to be had there Did you go full spec Brian? i know they done full lighting and engine noise kits and horns for the Tamiya trucks, the Merc i had i kept simple but put the auto/remote leg kit on the trailer, think i've still got the standard box van trailer...must have a look
  3. Great to see some of your old convo's again Justin used to be good looking through your old thread when you'd finished a build and added it to, a while ago now and can remember when you posted up that you were putting it all in storage, as they say time and tide wait for no man.... thanks for posting a few of them back up
  4. Looking good John, as others have said... and i've said before your becoming a bit of a dab hand at this scratch building i'm sure there is one or two on here that will testify that you are to plasticard as what my mum is to flour and a cake tin If your 3 weeks in and getting into a routine god knows what treats you'll be baking up on the cutting mat once you get back to your "more usual" working hours.....
  5. Nice memories for myself there with that outfit Justin although i could never understand why the hitch was plastic rather than diecast, seen many a plough at toyfairs over the years and it's always the hitch that was broken
  6. I think the 154 Narrow is the rarest of the 154's Zac, but like you say the 154 is a lot less common than the grey fergy which in essence is like for like although more the 154's predecessor, the 9/16 or 4/25 BMC Nuffy Mini's
  7. According to the page of the 154 brochure that shows a couple of the yellow highway tractors, they want to be silver wheels Sean
  8. I'd say give them a spray before you fit them Zac, makes sense then it's a job done that can be forgotten about, there's nowt to say the new fronts might not need a tickle and a spray so might be better to do the lot
  9. Great find Zac, will look all together a better tractor sat on the Ag tyres
  10. Cheers Justin, aye show season not far off now, got her booked into 2 so far, and hope to get her to a couple more besides errr well the 802 is getting there slowly, all the tin is now ready for sandblasting and re-painting, some of the glass is out of the cab, bit of welding needs doing here and there, then can concentrate on the wiring before i get her back together, thinking i'll keep her on the 38's but swap the 10's on the front back to 750's, most of the mechanical is done or from the faults that i knew about, but there's another project brewing between Martin MB86 and myself, that also needs a bit of time spent on but all will be revealled when she comes out of the shed
  11. Nowt wrong with that Justin, everybody has something they will work hard to own, a dream from the teenage years, i know of a few that would give their bodyparts for a MK2 escort or xr2i fiesta, me i just wanted an 804... and so far living the dream
  12. Busy times for yourself there Justin, although i do maybe spot an error on your part..... should the doorway to the garage not need to be a little bit taller??? You might struggle getting a cabbed 4600 through there bud
  13. With a bill to pay yesterday for the recent mis-fortune of the repairs to my Defender i decided i'd soften the blow to my wallet and treat myself to a run up to the garage on my 804, couldn't help admiring her looks in the reflections of the shop windows as she whistled her way down the high street Been a while since she's been out of the shed for a run so had a bit of a tour about the Valley on the way back, will have blown a few cobwebs off her, will try and get a few more runs in on her before the show season starts and she gets a wipe over with the polish and get chance to fit my recently Charnleys supplied "Marshall owners do it in fields" sticker for the back window.... it'll be a while before the 802 looks anything as tidy as this but it's an on going project.
  14. Good to hear your still adding to Mike don't think UH are doing much in the way of 16th's this year...
  15. Thanks Corky as you can see i've a bit of a tendancy to like a Nuffield and Leyland Cheers Mike hows your own 16th scale collection? are you still adding to it??
  16. Cheers Martin i know it's not your kind of Blue but it's got good links to you and your dad's farming past , Brian did a pair of the 384-4' Synchro's Martin got one himself and said it was ok for me to have the other one as i'd known Ian for a number of years and seen the real tractor in various stages of build when they built it, He's thinking this year to get his 482 restored, to go with the 472 he got sat in the shed
  17. And also this Leyland 384-4 synchro , based on my good mate Martin "the Beast's" 384, the full sized build is a 804 chassis and running gear mated to the tinwork of a 384, a tractor that has a special place in Martin's own collection as it was the last tractor that he and Ian built together before the tractor took Ian, a gentle giant and very knowledgeable man on his final journey, This version based on one of Brian's 4wd chassis, features the synchro box and Martins colour scheme of cream wheels.
  18. Some of the collection that made the journey north to the Tractor World Scotland show,
  19. A couple more bits to add into the collection from Tractor World at Ingliston at the weekend, a Leyland 245 (10 speed) a Leyland 154 and a original drivers hand book for the Universal 3 and 4, and a Nuffield 3/45 & 4/65 brochure that arrived in the post last week before the trip to Scotland
  20. Classic spreader and trailer there Martin, Nice buys I remember walking past Atkinson's as a youngster, maybe about 81/82 looking through the fence and seeing rows of gritting bodys and stacks of hedgers, but by that time Econ was more the name on the side rather than Atkinsons of Clitheroe, Back in the day Atkinson was "The" name in Lime spreaders and in a way i'm still proud to come from the town where many a hundred spreader was built. Had they not relocated to Ripon under Econ well before i left school, it would have been the place that i'd have gone to first for a job/apprenticeship. Must be 35 years since they moved, factory was sold and became a double glazing firm that took over the whole site in a big way
  21. Nice buy Zac Like others have said tidy tractor
  22. A couple more additions for the archive material collection from the 3 counties showground yesterday , a 1968 Nuffield BMC range A4 parts file and a 1978 Leyland Heavy Weight Workshop manual file for the 285/2100 10 speeds, both in good unused condition
  23. Thats what i thought Brian, id not seen one so hence i snapped it up to add to my collection
