That something you don't see every day in model form.....Good work though ....... you putting a buckrake up front??
-
Though we did have a bit of fun with the apprentice and his mask.......... we put black insulation tape between the shade lens and the clear protector so when he struck up the mask stayed dark...... took him an hour to work that out then we did a similar trick but put a dead spider between the lenses so when he struck up he saw the spider staring at him........ there was a high pitched scream the mask launched across the workshop....... needless to say the apprentice kakked his keks and we were in stitches Then there was the time we changed a box of welding rods for a box of sparklers.......... that brought about the same amount of merriment......

I've owned and used Speedglas welding helmets for 18 years now, used every day only changed the reactor batteries twice in my current one (6 years of use and abuse), they do a cheaper range of fixed shades or the top notch adjustable types, the adustable are better as if you turn them down to a lighter shade they bob on for plasma cutting

LAMMA 2013 - A Pictorial Review
Valley Axe Man replied to The Tractor Twitcher's topic in Events and Shows
Your right there David.............Sometimes i think the phrase "Sledgehammer to crack a walnut" springs to mind at the size of some of the modern tackle........ It's ok have a massive mowing machine if you've the forager with a big enough appetite....... but then you've to have big enough trailers and enough of them to cope with that output............ and unless you've a big clamp the man on the buckrake ends up pulling his tripe out trying to keep up as the loads get tipped, might be able to get on these days but sometimes i think the older smaller set ups can be just as productive without the millon pound pricetag -
LAMMA 2013 - A Pictorial Review
Valley Axe Man replied to The Tractor Twitcher's topic in Events and Shows
Some great pics David, thanks for posting them up Makes you wonder how big machinery is going to get.................... go back 40 years, a 6 and 8 ton grain trailers were a good load for tractors that averaged say 65-75hp and your average single axle slurry tanker was 750-1000 gallon......... then you see some of the monsters of the modern farming world, and you need to add another 200-250hp to the classics from back in the day............ what does the future hold for future generations of farmers and contractors?? -

Looks great Lee some good work there and a tractor that not too many people have a go at. Well done............... (when you starting a 1/16th version???) -
Thanks for the comments Neil, i'm glad you like. There a blue and grey residing in the family at the minute that has a silver exhaust, but that one on the narrow wheels. The 5000 major type would come in bits fairly easily, if you going to try a repaint.... i had bits left over from other builds i've done so just swapped parts onto the orginal standard blue and grey releases.
