  1. Work almost complete on a New performance version to keep this major company, New version fitted with power steering kit and on the same big boots as this one Pics posted soon
  2. They are a lot of model for the money Oliver, they are good and weighty but it's just the lack of the small finishing touches that let them down
  3. Thanks William........ You guessed right about the rotoflail, it's one of Classic Combines There not enough in the way of 1/16th classic british implements apart from the ones that Andy makes, so i became a good customer of his and now have a few of his hand built masterpieces in my collection. ( i must make time take some photo's and post them up in the collections forum) I have played about with the odd implement out of plastruct and plasticard, but never got on to do a really big build, just seem to enjoy building the tractors that UH didn't release out of their production items. Thanks for the comment and i'm glad you like
  4. The makings of a nice knocker there Will, looking forward to seeing it progress,........ and just in time for those spring fencing repairs!!!!!
  5. Cheers Will, glad you like I still fancy doing a blue and grey version but that shouldn't take too long I built a 6 potter when the power major first came out, but wasn't happy with it so knocked it in bits, i'd have a go at another 6 cylinder but would have to be on the bigger boots as the other one didn't look right on the little wheels.............
  6. Had to see what it looked like on the rotoflail........... Maybe the buckrake can wait!!
  7. Might have to have a bit of use down on the farm John before them rough timber lads get their hands on it ................... could always give it buckraking duties................... but would have to build a buckrake first!!
  8. Thanks Erik, glad you like my version, No winch as yet David but built one for one of my other Majors so don't think it be too bad to build another.............. I might still do a Blue & Grey New performance version on the big wheels as i have the tin work that i took off this, another set of wheels and tyres and there's still a few redundant chassis laying around from the Doe projects so will see what happens!!
  9. Thanks for the comments lads Its a bit different and looks a bit of a beast now............ Question is should i put it to work in Valley Timber Services or leave it as is............??
  10. A couple of photo's of the tractor so far............... All comments and thoughts appreciated
  11. A UH 1/16th Fordson new performance super major fitted with the bigger wheels and tyres off a redundant Ford 7000, rear wheels need to be re worked as 8 stud at minute and want reducing down to 6. Bonnet and tinwork left over from Valley timber services Super 4 was added to create the blue and orange Super major version as UH only offer the Super major in County, tricycle and limited edition Doe versions. UH offered an American spec Super major finished in white on these wheels, and called it a 5000 major, but thought i'd do something that was a bit more common to us. Hope you like
  12. A Happy and Healthy 2013 to all those on here that know us and all those who don't and a Happy Hogmany for those north of the border!! Best wishes from here in the Valley, Paul and Lynn
  13. Nice looking trailer, not a breed that i've come across anyone owning over here in the Valley, Looks good though
  14. I tried genuine Ford tractor Blue from our local NH dealers when i did my 1/16th Doe convo's earlier this year, It was close but not a perfect match as those that saw my Doe's at Lanark / Toytrac and Penrith will be able to testify, But when i chopped my 5000 to build the 1/16th 4000 i played about with a pot of humbrol and got a closer match after a bit of mixing and didn't look too bad even in bright sunlight.
  15. A bit more progress has been made toward the extension of the layout.......................... as Santa's delivered mum some broadleaf trees to plant in her new wood
  16. Aye Stuart got a great collection of Leylands as well as his Marshalls and Nuffields, plus his extensive literature and the start of his related model collection, and he a grand bloke to talk to about them too, usually have a catch up with him 2/3 times a year when i'm about the localality, Good report on the 125 though
  17. Aye a grand figurine Bill..............i got a bit of a soft spot for the Nuffield/Leyland/Marshall lineage of tractors "Truly British" though the wheels can stay cream on mine!
  18. Not a model as such but now the proud owner of the BFA Leyland 270 with hedgecutter
  19. Merry Christmas Harold, Hope you and Jane and the family have a good one and all the best for 2013 Paul and Lynn
  20. Welding be the best answer Bill, if the casting was deeper in depth then a series of dowels in the joint would have added extra strength, a method that i've used before on cast items at work. Sometimes when parts are obsolete then you've got no option to make do and mend
  21. Great Pic Erik Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you both.............. lets hope 2013 a good year for 1/16th
  22. Your one skilled and talented builder John ........... Are you planning a version with full silage kit??? After seeing this build i don't think anyone could build a better one!
  23. WOW!!!!! John I'm impressed with that build............Firkin Fantastic!!!!
