  1. Looks lovely scenery Corky, is it hot over there at the moment
  2. Generally I use a Halfords primer, then paint and then clear gloss lacquer, I use Halfords paint as it seems to give a good finish and it takes to most things and sometimes it doesn't need priming. I'm sure there are a lot better ways of doing it but it works for me
  3. Cheers, Yes a Britains heritage blue one, the colour never grew on me
  4. Nearly finished this... not everyone's cup of tea but it looks a lot better Than the cobalt blue it was. Waiting for some window tint, finish painting the lights then I'm done
  5. Nearly bought a Massey 35, pretty rusty and they wanted £1800 for it. I said I would have it but changed my mind as I've been saving for a Series II Land Rover for a long time now so better spent on one of them. You live and learn
  6. Massey on the mixer this morning at the local dairy
  7. Sean, I once did a thatched roof so I used plumbers hemp cut up and bundled, I find a dab of loctite and cross the strings over and it does the job, no need for knots
  8. Stunning John, look forward to seeing some paint on them, will look fantastic
  9. Stunning models Martin, pictures really do them justice
  10. Down here on the island there is a real shortage of hay, just nothing there. Small horsey bales have gone up in price and there are so many horses, it's like the bloody Wild West! Most of them don't have any land for hay and are starting to buy them over from the mainland, absolutely ridiculous!! I helped with my uncles field and there was nowhere near as many bales as last year
  11. Thanks Paddy, I use 'Pages' app on a mac but it's the equivalent of word, publisher, or PowerPoint I guess. I find the decals on the web and just put them on a blank page. It can be a pain getting ones without sample writing across thou. Then I scale them up by getting the zoom on the computer so the page is the same size as and actual page if that makes sense. I'm using some inkjet decal paper from the local model shop but I have tried others but failed in getting them to stick to the model but I think I've found the right stuff. There is white and clear stuff . After printing I sprayed it with some Halfords car lacquer and then used it as a normal waterside decal. I will try and find out what this paper I'm using is called, it just works on a normal printer.
  12. I've finally got some homemade decals to work, ignore the bad painting but otherwise I think their quite good...
  13. Looks exellent Sean, what are you using for the tin, can it bend?
  14. 15. I find if you give it a coat of Matt varnish is sticks really well or if you sand the glossy finish off the paint. It takes a lot of trial and error, also i think darkish blue is really hard to weather abit like red
