  1. I always wanted to make a replica of the Crawford ploughing tractor (see first picture) which was an ex-WW2 Sherman M4-A2 tank converted for agricultural use by Robert Crawford, a Lincolnshire contractor in 1947. I have just assembled the running gear from a 1/35 scale Tamiya Sherman tank kit and the tracks move smoothly. Like Crawford, I have discarded the turret and side armour, which reduced the weight of the real tank from 35 tons to 20 tons. Crawford kept the twin General Motors six cylinder diesel engines, which produced a useful 375hp between them. There are no engines with this kit, so I will need to improvise. I also need to 3D print some new tinwork and add the two 9 inch diameter exhaust pipes! Having painted and weathered the model it is starting to look a bit like Crawford's creation.
  2. Very pleased with this ASAM Models Vickers Vigor crawler tractor white metal kit. It is 1/48 scale but nothing available in 1/32, unfortunately.
  3. Some pictures of the painted Teagle XT48 with decals, which will be supplied with the kit.
  4. Looking good. Shame I can't make it tomorrow.😪
  5. We visited Brno during a holiday in the Czech Republic in the late 1990s. The Zetor factory was massive with a huge Tesco store just for the convenience of the Zetor workers! Shame to see that come to an end. The old 4WD Crystals were a force to be reckoned with when pulling a forage harvester.
  6. I was lucky to find this original sales brochure for the Ferguson France FF30 "red belly" tractors which were launched in late 1956 and continued until 1958. I own a full set of FF30 diesel tractors, so this brochure is of particular interest to me.
  7. This is my Teagle Matchless rotary mower which I restored during the Covid lockdown. It was one of the first rotary mowers on the market back in 1967. It has a 5ft cut and is effectively a mower-conditioner. Teagle's boast was that it could cut drying time by 30%. When I was a boy, two go-ahead farming neighbours had mowers like this and they were the envy of the local farming community.
  8. I assembled and painted this wind pump kit from E-bay. Added styrene ladders, now I am adding some styrene pipework and eventually a storage tank and drinking trough.
  9. Looking good John.👍 They don't call it the Tomahawk XL for nothing.
  10. A picture of the real XT48 with Teagle BL10 bag lifter. Photograph courtesy of Teagle Machinery.
  11. I was considering whether I should do that but you have just made up my mind for me! Thank you Barry. Will do it as a separate item.
  12. My next project is this Teagle XT48 fertiliser spreader. These are the initial renders. There is a lot more work to do on this, obviously.
  13. Here is the painted and decaled version of the in-line baler. These kits will be available at the end of next week/beginning of the following week and will include a full set of 12 decals and two straw bales. This is a delicate 3D printed model and not a child's toy. It is only suitable for persons over 14 years of age. The cost, including postage to a UK address will be £25. Sorry but I do not post to addresses outside the UK. Payment by bank transfer or cheque, - sorry no PayPal. Message me to order.
  14. Another piece of the farm methane plant jigsaw falls into place. I bought this 1/32 scale Kids Globe bio digester on E-bay this morning.👍
