  1. I just hope the idea works for you, or I could end up in the doghouse ;D

    Blue McCormick

Thanks TBF. That looks like them. The picture shows them as blue but with the Mc name on them. As I work with Balfour Beatty I'd have recognised their corporate logo straight away - I've got it on the PC as I use it in literature I produce for them. It all ties in as BB are doing utility work alongside the March to Chatteris road which is not far away. Looks like the mystery is solved.
  3. I was once in north Norway in Feb (-25 Celcius and living under canvas) when the local people had a fesival (Sonderfest) to celebrate the first sighting of the sun that year. Difficult to imagine in UK.

    Blue McCormick

The strange thing here was that I could not see any other company names. Being in the construction industry I looked for that - it was also a different blue to Balfour Beatty's (I often work with them so I know the colour well). The paintwork of the machine I saw was very good and spotlessly clean.

    Blue McCormick

Yetsreday I saw a large McCormick, with McCormick logos but it was painted blue. It was a 04 reg. There were no company logos, only MC name, and it was painted blue instead of the normal red. Any thoughts?
  6. Not quite, you just use 1 or 2 thicknesses.
  7. Another possibility for the canvas cover is to stretch toilet tissue to the shape you want and then soak superglue into it. Railway modellers use it with liquid poly on van roofs to give the canvas effect.
  8. The trouble is, Barry, you've too many people living in the South East for the resources you have available - just look at the M25 car park, it's full ;D
  9. Sorry NH2, but no. I've now learnt to carry a notebook and pen with me in the future. I'm curious about the model myself as it looks convo potential.
  10. Not too bad as I recall. I had not realised that there were so many pics. I forgot my own camera and managed to find a stall with several out of date disposables and this was the result of my risking 2 of them. Ben has done a major task in resizing them and puting them on the forum. Thanks again Ben.
  11. Ben, you deserve a medal for that mamouth task. The steam pics were definately affected by it being an old disposable.
  12. That Cat was a mean dream machine.
  13. Thanks FB. Interesting to see that the pictures are wider than the viewfinder shows. Something to remember when using disposable cameras.
  14. We used to pick into Bushel and Half Bushel boxes. Sounds like yours is Bushel size. Mechanical handling has upped the size. The local apple growers use small vineyard type tractors (MF and Fendt) with rear mounted forklifts.
  15. The very same. They pick into them and then cart them on flat trailers to the storage sheds.
  16. They are the same size as your potato boxes.
  17. How come posts seem to end up being about suspect practices and s*x? Can't people concentrate on pure things such as Ford machines etc?
  18. Where? I've not seen a flake there all day
  19. Oops - should have read 0.8 mm and not 0.08 mm. Brain fuddled with flu
  20. Around this way apple boxes are used a great deal so I thought I'd try and make some like Mark. The sides are 1 inch thick so I used 0.08 mm thick balsa sheet with 3 mm square bottom pieces to give the fork height and 1.5 x 3 mm bracing. I used evostick impact glue as I lost the balsa glue. The results are shown (if I can post it). The alignmnet of one side could be better. I'm not sure whether to use 1 mm thick balsa sheet to give a bit more strength as it looks a bit flimsy. What do people think? 0.08 mm is scale representation of 1 inch.
  21. Could be, but weren't they painted red?
  22. All those good pics, and not a carrot in sight ;D
